Welcome!!!!
Is anyone here interested in discussing tennis? I've been playing for a long time (just for fun, not competitively - although I always want to win) and I haven't found any new threads on Tennis (there are few - the latest one being really old and with few replies) so I created one. I really love the sport - it's my favourite sport by far - and as I said, I'm a regular player.
As in other general threads, no specifics, maybe discuss current professional matches (I'm watching Federer-Coric in the Halle final, 4-all, quite even so far); also, your own experience with the sport, personal development; strike types and playstyles, and anything else you can think of.

Kirgios one-upped his past behavior yesterday.
It's incredible because, if he knows such things won't be welcomed nicely, why do them; but not only that, why incur in one more inappropiate behaviour, especially considering his record? There's no need for that, certainly.
[doublepost=1529842640][/doublepost]Unfortunate setback for Federer, and a missed opportunity in that mini-break. First set, 7-6 down. Very even match, with Coric insisting to Federer's backhand, and Roger is failing to reply accordingly, especially considering his backhand is certainly far from lackluster.

I don't think he was aware the camera was on him. It was clear he was having a bit of fun, pun not intended, with someone off camera. Compared to his previous stunts, this was nothing, even though it was something.

Most likely, yes. Still, I don't know, as they say, there's no need for that.

Federer lost the top spot. What a shame. I hope he gets it back, although I don't really think that will happen anytime soon.

Growing up on the farm doesn’t give much access to tennis but I played some recreationally as a kid. I played a lot of racquetball as a young man instead. I was a solid B maybe slightly on the higher B...but could never advance beyond the quarters in bigger tournaments. Now I hit a tennis ball with a racquetball racquet in the park with my dog. She loves it.

I loved racquetball in a different phase of my life, but can’t say I was that good.

Wimbledon up and running and Federer cruising through so far. 6-1/6-3/2-0 as I post. Anyone watching?
