Hammond is a die hard 911 fanboy. So this, of course, means Hammond is in fact a big (short) stonking Nazi.

There, I said it.

Indeed, which shows just what an inept statement May's was. That, or they're completely unaware that the success of the Beetle was down to the Allies, the British specifically.

I've driven a few cars, and few have been as challenging or indeed as engaging to drive as a Beetle. :)

I've never driven a beetle, but I have driven a dune buggy that was essentially a Beetle chassis and drivetrain with a seat and cage welded on it. Fun!

JC hates the 911 as far as I can tell. Which is why he owns a Lambo.

I must admit, I don't see the Appeal of the 911. The R8 however...

In other news, has anyone seen 'Supercar Showdown' Clarkson's new DVD? It's good... But not as good as Top Gear. Mostly stuff thats already been on Top Gear, but some stuff that aint. Worth the download, if you ask me. But thats all.

The race through london was very entertaining indeed!

Lately I've been kind of distracted from Top Gear though... THe Long Way Down, which is on right after is a superb program. And although I am a TG fanatic, the last few weeks it has only been "the program before long way down"

If you haven't seen that program I highly recommend it.

Got to get me a speedboat and get down to the Thames. I want to go speeding past the Police like Clarkson did.

Although riding the bike was quickest, not sure I'd like to do it every day, got to shorten your life life expectancy.

"We've ruined Top Gear" :D

Funny stuff. While cycling might have been fastest, Hammond looked positively traumatized. I loved it when he swore at the lights and cars. I think anyone who cycles in london is mental.

The Stig amused me more than ever this episode. The Coranation Street ringtone, which he just stares at; he tries to fit in and read and then throws down the paper with Lewis Hamilton stuff on it; the "blank" stares around the tube... :D
I'd PMSL if I saw The Stig on the tube.

Good episode. I <3 the Stig.

I don't think I've ever laughed as much when he threw that paper down with Lewis Hamilton on the back. Either that, or when Clarkson said 'Maybe they'll think he's a Brazilian Electrician. :D

I loved the Heather Mills comment too!!

That "F1" roadcar was insane!!!

So glad that they finally showed the Caparo, it has been around for ages, but suppose it hasn't been ready yet as shown by the ammount that it broke down on the track.

am I the only one that thought that thing was ridiculous?

yeah, woohoo, it's real fast... and can't corner for sh**, or go a mile without breaking down in some way. You'd look like a real twunt driving one of those around. I could barely contain myself from turning on my wiper fluid beside someone in one of those.

That Aston on the other hand. Wow! Mmmmmm!

<wipes seat>

The Coranation Street ringtone,

It was the old Emmerdale Farm theme wasn't it? ;) :p

I've been saying that for a year...

It is.
It most definitely can corner.
They're still pre-production cars. ;)

I could barely contain myself from turning on my wiper fluid beside someone in one of those.

They can be ordered with a roof as well. ;)

It seems totally pointless to me

It makes a lot more sense than something like an Atom, or a Radical, or a Caterham though.

oh. yeah maybe it was. (I'm not up on the soaps, as we now know)

It is.

I bet you'd use their defense too "Officer, if I went around the roundabout at the speed limit, I'd crash!"

They can be ordered with a roof as well. ;)
Oh look, and me without my chequebook.

Do any of those really make "sense"?

yeah yeah yeah, tomato tomato :D

(but if we're going there, I'll take the Zonda, in red please)

You think so? I must disagree, actually. Radical I agree with, but more sense than a Caterham and an Atom?

Ask yourself, how is a Atom more sensible?
Ask yourself, how is a Caterham more sensible?

If you ask me, a Radical makes a more sensible road car than both of the above.

Caterham is easy, IMO, because it's cheap and has the perfect mix of road car and track car. You can build it or buy one, maintain it yourself for not a great deal of money. It's built with parts fairly easy to find as well.

Atom, again it's cheap to buy, cheap to maintain. Atom is more of a track car than a road car but still not too much of a track car not to make sense on the road.

For me, the others are simply track cars that happen to be road legal. Your going to get wet in them all, so none really make 100% sense but I guess it's just each to their own and depends how you look at these things.

Because IMO, the Vantage is nicer with a roof. ;)
