Absolutely no way that will happen for 2 very important reasons.
1. Power-to-weight ratio will still be vastly inferior.
2. It won't generate anywhere near comparable levels of downforce, which is the main reason why the T1 can do what it does.
It already has the 2nd fastest time ever at the ring.
But I guess if you're going to count the T1 as the fastest car to lap the TG track
you may as well count the Aston Martin DBR9 (or whatever it was called), which was also not a proper road car.
That said, I'm a big jamiroquai fan and all, but I think Jay was handed the top spot on a silver platter. Kinda lame, and he even annoyed me.
But the Caparo is a proper road car, and could have been driven straight onto public roads immediately after setting it's lap time.
The Caparo is no more a road car than the Radical SR3 or SR8 imho....
Lord Blackadder]I hope they get the Veyron onto the track this fall. Where do you guys think it will slot? If the T1 reigns supreme will it be in 2nd place, or will the Ascari/Gumpert edge it out?
Exactly. The Caparo isn't a road car.
The GT-R is already the 2nd fastest road car to go around the Ring
I'd certainly expect improvement if the V-spec (or Spec V) version was used, as it has an extra 100 hp or so, and is supposed to be 200 kg lighter.
I'm not entirely convinced, but it's possible... though I still think there's something amiss with the quoted stock factory outputs.![]()
Nissan has consistently under-quoted power figures on many of their sports cars.
I'm positive that the Nissan engineers have at least a horsepower range within which every engine falls. And I'll bet that range is not very big.
Oh without doubt... but the output, weight, performance equation just doesn't seem to add up when you see the times it's capable of producing.![]()
Good, you can have him.I don't know where to begin! I laugh my ass off the entire show. I'm a sucker for anything from across the pond as it is (Gordon Ramsay is my personal hero)
In case I didn't make my point clearly enough, I love this show. I've gotta get caught up so i can participate in this thread!
Good, you can have him.
SameI don't even like or care for cars but I love the show.
I don't know how possible it is but we've got a channel here named Dave that basically plays 6 or so (or feels it) Top Gear episodes a day. If you can find a streaming version of that you'll be sorted. Or maybe not since they remove some parts of the show to fit in adverts.
It's how I fell in love with the show though. Grabs dinner, puts TV on, Top Gears on Dave. Grabs tea, puts TV on, Top Gear...![]()
I thought this was appropriate.

So......the premiere of Top Gear Australia is on Monday at 7:30 PM.
Any of you lot seen last week's Harry and Paul, and seen the "Clarkson Island" sketch?
Watch it here!!
I really laughed my a** off!
Harry Enfield was on the first "new style" Top Gear way back in 2002... and now it's pay back time for JC.
Absolute brilliance!
What did people think of Top Gear Australia?
I thought it was good but they overacted a bit. I'm sure as the season(s?) goes on it will get better.
I hope it stays up and they dont axe the show.

Idk bout this, did they take track/air temps into consideration? What fuel was used? theres so many things to consider when it comes to lap times, but porsche could have something here.
