I don't really have an issue with iPhone 7's mediocre design. I see people use custom exterior parts for iPhones all the time from changing the home button or the entire shell altogether. The most important parts of any phone is the components inside of it especially the display, digitizer, SoC, and battery.

Worry about taking care of its inside first like deciding to eat healthier foods to live longer. Inside matters more. Once the motherboard is fried or the battery goes kaput, game over. The exterior is generally replaceable if you find a shop that repairs iPhones and sells custom parts. Don't need to annoyed by something so trivial. Gee, that iPhone 7 was worked great for me but I hated that camera hump! Mmmkay.

Enjoy your wait as it will be a long one.

I find nothing wrong with the design, have not used the jack in years and could care less about wireless charging.

Wireless charging isn't a really big deal, but it is nice when my truck has a wireless charging pad built in. I can
only use it for my Note 5 though.

My one use case for wireless charging...traveling in my car without built in nav and using my phone for navigation. Today I plug it in, but in this one instance wireless charging would be great.

I'm looking forward the iPhone 7, I hope it comes with wireless charging and I highly support the removal of headphone jack, but I know I won't buy it because of the same **** sign and boring design.

I know I'll wait for the next SE 2!
The SE 2? That probably won't happen!
[doublepost=1469245582][/doublepost]I don't think there will be an Se 2...

Why not, that's exactly what Samesung has done. Except for the new size options.
So an s2, a s3 and s6 edge all look the same do they, nope, didn't think so. But carry on with those ever so cute nicknames, you are soooooooo adorable in the way you pander to the gallery for LIKE!!
[doublepost=1469261976][/doublepost]
It's more than that, it's an offering for those who want a smaller form factor with the (mostly) latest hardware at a reduced price. The people who don't want to upgrade won't buy this phone anyway.

The implication being android is mostly cookie cutter, while iPhone being iconic in design stands out amongst the crowd?
There's nothing iconic about bland and uninspiring, which is what iphone design has been for many a year ..

And android has copied in that regard? Was the end of your sentence?

How can an OS copy a piece of hardware?
They're a very inventive lot. But you're right in an attempt to be "cute" I should have said at least the phone is recognizable, which I like, and not hardware flavor of the month, all android phones are indistinguishable, and operate the same, which is why Samsung is getting squeezed.

Yep, they are certainly recognisable.. bland. Check.. huge bezels.. check.. low resolution screen.. Check.. carried by folks wearing ugg boots and a burberry baseball cap.. check!!

It would be nice if the iPhone 7 and SE2 would have wirless charging. My current iPhone (iPhone 5) needs a case with built in reciver for wirless charging, which is a pain in areas with bad cellular signals. It also makes it hard to use the headphone jack and i lose the lighting port for a USB B port (USB B cables are much more durable than lighting, but they are much uglier).

I would prefer iPhone 7 over SE2, if the SE2 doesn't have wirless charging and the 7 has.

You know what they say about opinions, and if you don't here it is: "Opinions are like *******, everyone has one." But c'mon is that the best "dig" you can come up with? ugg boots and burberry? My friend you are losing your touch. Or maybe, just taking pot shots at the best designed, best running, most recognizable phone in the world.

You sir are fantastic, on one hand you say about opinions, then you go on about the best designed as if it's fact. Lol, the edge series of devices trumps the bland 6 series every day of the week. That isn't even a debate.

Usb b ports are not known for their durability. They are known for the lack of durability.

Out of curiosity, do you ever use the edge on s6 edge? Or is it just for the looks? No matter what a phone looks like, it'll look boring with time.

I was really excited for the IP7 until all the press started coming out on the 2017 Iphone, now I think I will just wait for that one.

Correct, it's not a debate, it's a fact; iPhone 6s trumps all. Sales don't lie, right?

And thank you for that complement.:):apple:

I really think it's silly that people need to have the phone totally redesigned every year or two. As long as the performance and reliability improve with every generation I could care less if the overall design of the phone remains unchanged. It's quite pointless and useless to be so superficial.

You could care less you say? Exactly how much could you care less, we need to know how much you care about this situation first.. then we are able to decide how much less you can care.
Oh. You meant to say you COULDNT care less, gotcha. As your level of caring is at zero, so you really COULDNT care any less.
We have given you Americans the English language, any chance you can use it correctly..

You are welcome sir..

One teeny tiny point, by your analogy a humble ford fiesta is a better design classic than let's say a Ferrari or a high end maserati. Due to more sales Figures? Is that the mantra we are going by today..

Yes all the time, but even without any functionality almost a year on I think the handset looks fantastic. Most other devices are just a slab of metal/glass/plastic..

What can your u do with the edge?

One teeny point the fiesta is not in the same class as the Ferrari, while the phones are competitors to the general market even if they aren't to YOU.

Eh, so I said it wrong. Sue me.

Most expensive components in any smartphone -
- Display
- SoC

Most important components INSIDE any smartphone -
- Circuit board
- Battery (to keep it powered)

Just think of the exterior shell as a "case" for those important components. This why ergonomics and material used matters more to me than pure aesthetics.

I am currently going through a blackout right now. I can only charge my phones with my powerbank. Because no matter what a phone looks like, it is USELESS to me if I can't power it on anymore. Pretty, lifeless paperweight where the screen can no longer turn on. So protecting the circuitry inside it and keeping the battery healthy is more important to me than some useless, shallow, exterior design.

Best material ever used by Apple for a pocketable gadget - iPod Mini

Anodized aluminum ftw! Nokia N8 used it too and they were built like tanks. Then Apple went the opposite with the early gen iPod nanos for slimmer but with those scratch prone mirror backs like the iPod classic line. They will go backwards again next year bringing glass rears. Stick to owning iPhone SE forever if you hate the 6/7 design and may not like iPhone 8 either. Too bad SE is such becoming a tired old design too. All designs we will grow tired of...

Just don't do it again and we will say no more about it.;-)

Gotcha, so you are now throwing caveats into the mix as well. Cool.
Somebody has to bring some common sense into this discussion/debate/argument/tit-for-tat. It might as well be me.
