i have had a few. I have traditionally been willing to pay for the best, like Vaja, but I think they add too much bulk. I saw the Griffin Wave on a friend's iPhone and knew that was it. I bought one and love it. Easy on, easy off, adds very little bulk, stay secure, stays clean, keeps the face open. It comes in multiple colors (you get 2) but I like the translucent back on my white iPhone.

This is definitely the keeper for me.

I'm using the incase 3g slider. Fit perfect, and is a black matte finish. Its got that fiber/hairy feel. Its a great case!! I'd say the best out now!

I agree with the above poster - Sena cases are excellent. I just got their magnetic flipper model for my 3G and I had the dockable case for my original iphone. Good quality leather and not as expensive as Vaja. The case is a bit tight with my bestskinsever on it but it should stretch/break-in the way my first one did after a few days of use.

Sena cases for iPhone 3G

Here is a first look video we did of the new iPhone 3G Sena cases. I really like both of these cases a lot. They don't add to much bulk to the phone. And the clip on the back is heavy duty I don't think you would have to worry about that clip breaking anytime soon.

I ordered a case-mate as well. They charge $24 for shipping to Canada, so I haven't received it, as I had it sent to a friend in the US that is coming up in a few days. It is at his place now, just waiting for me. The model I ordered was the Signature case/holster combo. The case looks like a really nice fit and finish (Napa leather) and the holster is a 360 deg swivel, so it has everything I have been looking for. It looks to add a little more bulk than I would have liked, but it seems most leather case do. At least this one doesn't have the visible ugly stitching and that the holster is a separate unit means there is no clip on the case to add more bulk. It also comes with a screen protector (or 2?).

For $50, a leather case, fitted 360 holster and screen protector seems like a goods deal and I got free shipping, as I ordered one for my dad as well.
