The unofficial "I'm waiting for Sandy Bridge" thread ...

Guys trust me.. it'll be next Tuesday. Just hold out another week..


On a serious note. I have waited for Arrandale since late Dec 2009. And I always said I would buy as soon as it releases. Now that they are here, I'm not buying. The refresh wasn't substantial and I'm unimpressed. Sadly I will be waiting for the next refresh hopefully with Lightpeak.

A little nugget for those out there waiting for Sandy, from Anand.

If you're curious about what's next, I have two words for you: Sandy Bridge. Due out sometime in Q1 2011, Sandy Bridge looks incredible based on early performance data. No word on when we'll see it in notebooks but if you like torturing yourself, waiting for Sandy Bridge will pay off.

I've committed myself to waiting for another year at least. So I'm guessing it will be a Sandy Bridge for me. But Q1 2011 isn't that far away... who knows. This whole MBP update has me depressed.

Sadly I will be waiting for the next refresh hopefully with Lightpeak.

There will be no Lightpeak. If USB3 isn't even coming to Intel chipsets until 2012, Lightpeak will be after that... probably long after that.
