i was able to get my silver 8+ 64GB order in easy on My Verizon app. Desktop version for me still won't load the 8+ page, but the 8 page loads perfectly fine.

Actually, I have been advised the complete opposite. I have had multiple Verizon representatives tell me the application is not stable and will likely crash during pre-ordering. And they suggested to use the website, even though I think it's more to navigate through.
The site kept crashing for me. Able to order a gold and silver 8+ 256gb through the app with delivery dates 9/22. I'm actually having back surgery on 9/21 so I'm looking forward to a new toy to keep me occupied!The verizon website is not slow or crashing, no problem ordering 8's
Some people were able to get through early on the desktop site and by hitting the shop option instead of the linked pre order button on the home page. I will probably try this first. Sad we have a month to go.
I knew I had to order through Verizon because I have an old plan so I can still upgrade/add lines for contract price...... My total for 256 iPhone 8 in silver was 399 plus tax.......app wouldn't let me in but going through "shop" on the regular site worked

I was refreshing the Apple site and he Verizon lady was talking to till to a coworker and going very slow. Then she said all they had was 64 gigs and low and behold the Apple site popped up.

Got an order in (Space Gray, 256) but messed up the orders, wanted the Plus on my line and not my significant other's. I didn't want to chance anything going out of stock so I just got the two phones tonight. If I use the upgrade on their line now to get the Plus is it an easy exchange between the two devices on the lines? We're on the same plan.
It's been 12 minutes and the site still shows "Delivery by 09/22/2017" so I feel confident that my order for 9/22 went in no problem. YAY!

Great news, I figured it wouldn't be too difficult of a process, I just wanted to be able to recover from a quick-witted mistake!
I discovered tonight I'm eligible for the iPhone upgrade program. I think I'll do this for the X since it includes apple care. Seems like a no brainer
