Wow, I totally thought that there was IE for Macs? Oh, well. I know IE sucks but when I learned the little I know IE was pretty much the only browser on Windows. Yeah, I know Windows sucks too. And I'm sure its been done before. I searched and all I could find were really crappy imitations. Mine is REALLY good!

nope! download Firefox and get the IE tabs add-on, it's amazing. back to the main point, your website does work in an IE tab in Firefox and i think what you did it pretty sweet!

That only works if you have IE installed. Again it won't work in OSX.

Its nice...but kinda disappointing that not all the apps have full functionality.

Idea- the camera app should try to access the user's webcam if they have one.

This is really cool. screw all the people that want it to work with other browsers. (i use chrome btw).

It even copies the lag that my real iphone has. :p

nice work

Full functionality??? That would me cool but then I'd have to charge you $199 to use it.

I like the webcam idea but I'm pretty sure computer's don't allow javascript in a browser to access the user's webcam. Cool idea though. I had plans on giving functionality to some of the other simple apps but it takes SO damn long that I think I'm done. I was going to do the calculator, notes, and maps. I was also going to do the phone and SMS and then if you send a message or dial a number another response message will come in after a few seconds and a pre-recorded voice would answer the phone and say something like "Hello?...hello?...Who is this??!!!!....Stop calling me!!!!!!"

Hey folks. Having lost my job because of our bad economy, I've found myself with too much free time. My free time has given birth to a creation that should never have existed - The Virtual iPhone. I invite you all to follow the below link to gaze in wonder at one of the worlds greatest wastes of time and ask "why?". Because my javascript is abit crude, I only wrote with consideration towards Internet Explorer's loose non-standards standards. If you are currently using FF or Chrome or Safari or whatever, please copy the link into your IE or it won't. I ask that you take your time to enjoy my creation. Double tap the home button from the lockscreen to see the iPod controls appear. Adjust the volume. Slide the "slide to unlock" slider only partially and then marvel as it slides back. I know you will appreciate my springboard icon "spring" animation as well as my app launching animation. Flick the springboard icons from page 1 to page 2 and then back again. Hit the Safari icon. Touch the Address or Search field and watch the familiar top bar adjustment animation flow. Open up PapiJump and play a quick game. Currently Safari and Papi are the only working apps and, as you'll see, my PapiJump blows. But I think any diehard iPhone fans will appreciate the subtle measures I took to simulate the iPhone experience. Give it a few seconds to load as it is a graphically robust beast. Thank you and please let me know what you think. Feel free to use words like "artist", "genius", "lifechanging" or "religious experience". If you like it, please tell a friend.

Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, I was raised on windows. Can't you buy a copy of Windows and run bootcamp or something? There you go, a simple solution to the incompatibility issue. Definetely worth it in this case. ;)

Anyways, I gave you a video!

I ran it in Parallels, and it actually is really cool. great job. :apple:

Impressive work.

Don't mind the complainers. Everyone here whines about everything like they just paid €1000 for it and it doesn't work.

I can't get it to work with Safari, maybe it's because I'm running the beta. I tried imitating IE using the develop menu but no luck.

please clarify. Are you running a beta version of virtualization software? It will not work in Safari no matter what. It will only work in IE on a windows machine or IE on a mac running virtualization software. Good luck. Sorry I didn't make it more compatible.

I think this is really cool! I always thought that if Apple could find a way to use the iPhone on your laptop/desktop, it would be really cool. There are some apps out there that are iPhone only, but would work much better if they had some processing power behind them.

For example, there are some photo editing apps (Colorsplash comes to mind) that I would LOVE to use of my laptop. Why? Because I have many, many more photos on my Mac that I would love to play around with and edit. If I wanted to edit these right now, I would have to transfer all of them over to my iPhone, which could be a pain and I simply don't have the space on it either.
