So it's now been around 1 year and 1 month and I've continued to lose weight. I am now at 175.5lbs down from 234lbs. My large leather loop bands no longer fit because my arm has become a lot smaller. I was in the Apple Store last week picking something up when I mentioned this to one of the employees. They said to call apple and explain the situation to them, just to try to see what they would say. I did that today, and now there are 2 medium sized leather loops headed my way, they said think of it as a congratulations on the weight loss.

Wow. I've heard some great stories about Apple customer service going above and beyond (and have a few of my own), but that's the best one I heard yet. This is why I keep choosing Apple over the competition.

Also I'll add my story. Picked up a Space Grey Sport at launch. I liked it so much that I returned it for a better model, the stainless with black leather loop. Yes version 1 had some bugs and some lag, but the core functions worked great, particularly getting notifications on my wrist and not having my phone buzz at me all day from across the room. Also Siri on the wrist is pretty great, even with its occasional misses, as is the ability to pick up a phone call if I don't have my phone with me. One year later, still loving the watch, and a few months ago I dropped the dough on a genuine link bracelet. I figured at this point the watch is not leaving my wrist in the foreseeable future (I'm hooked) so I might as well invest in the strap I really wanted. Boy is it a beaut. What an amazing piece of engineering, that is just so nice to look at and feel. Once in a great while I swap out for the leather loop or the sport strap that I have, but it's pretty rare, because the link is so nice.

Also the other day I was thinking about how my phone has one full year of heart rate, step, and calorie data for me on it due to me wearing the watch every day. I haven't had the need to show this data to my doctor, but that could happen at some point, and it's pretty amazing to have that kind of health data accumulating just because I'm wearing this watch.

Yes, I've also collected this info.

Now what to do with it?

I am healthier due to my AW and self awareness on health.

I have also developed disciplines that will take me forward.

It's an interesting ride that we are all in.

I've had my AW now for over a year. I was not the first to adopt it, and to be honest, I was rather skeptical of the AW at first. What won me over was integration of the iPhone and AW, i felt given my needs, having notifications sent to my watch when my phone was not handy was important. A year later, I can say that AW has been very helpful in that aspect.

I do enjoy changing my bands, and enjoy wearing the watch, but I've not neccesary found my AW any more useful, then my immediate requirement. The fitness aspect of the watch is decent, though I was very active before getting the AW, so it didn't help me in that aspect. I've gotten used to its short battery life, though I would prefer getting more then a day usage out of it.

Overall, its been a nice addition, but I do question whether I'll get a newer model in the future based on how I'm actually using it. I'm not looking to dump it, nor am I anxious to upgrade, so I can sit back and see how things unfold, and then make a decision.

Question getting another AW?

Hah.

It's a computer on wrist (COW).

When have you ever been without a computer since they first came out?

For me, never.

Question getting another AW?
I'm not sure, I'm leaning towards no. The AW does what I expected it too, but why spend another few hundred dollars on an incrementally improved product that is not needed.

Semantics, While its true the watch has a CPU in it, I'd be wary to classify it as a computer on the same level as a desktop/laptop or tablet. I cannot pull up an excel spreadsheet on my watch, or edit a website, or edit a movie.

The role of the watch is to extend the utility of the iPhone without needing to pull the iPhone out. I've not been without a comptuer since they came out in the 80s, but then if I don't get an apple watch, I'll still have a computer in my household, just not one on my wrist ;)

Not yet.

Maybe, in the future.

Samsung announced 512GB drive in the size of a postage stamp recently. That would fit the AW.

Imagine the future AW allowing you to view a screen of any size that you want projected in front of you.

All the different components may come together: the computing power on your wrist, the screen that you can see in the air, and the software to drive it all, with voice and thought commands.

I'm sure you already know but that precious data, as I understand it, is not backed up to iCloud daily only an encrypted itunes backup saves the data.
I try & backup to rMBP as often as I can (have a 4 week reminder set).
Also I have an external USB drive 'offsite' backup.
[doublepost=1465645089][/doublepost]I love my apple watch served me well especially the alarms and notifications (although not all e-mails get to the watch) gmail?.

But I very much doubt I'll upgrade as often a I originally thought.
If I do (as I'm now so used to wearing a watch again) it wont be 2nd gen more like 4th gen hope the battery lasts.

Wait until Apple's marketing engine gets a hold of me and you and the rest of us.
