I hate it when people get loads of presents and still expect more, seriously, if your like that, your a spoilt brat, grow up.

I refuse to tell my parents what to buy me for xmas simply because i hate them spending loads of money on me, always feels like i don't deserve it, I got a hoody, a long sleeve tshirt and a scarf this year, all things i have been badly needing and I'm very grateful they got them.

If you don't expect anything, your always surprised, if you beg and beg your parents to buy you a 360, wii or macbook pro etc, wheres the surprise in that?

sorry for the rant, but some people are so materialistic it drives me crazy.

I hear you. I felt a little bit bad asking for a pound of dog feces because I knew that I wouldn't be surprised when I opened it. But, much to my amazement, I got TWO pounds of dog feces, not just one. So even when you demand something, a surprise can arrive right under your nose.

Well....this IS a forum where people come to talk about the expensive toys they have and want. Materliasim is kind of a given :p

Ha ha! My thoughts exactly.

As for me, my wife and I decided not to give gifts to each other this year. We got a Color Wonder coloring book for our two year old son, and he loves it. :)

It's so nice that an eight dollar coloring book with markers makes him happy because it won't be too long when he'll be asking for an iMac or ridiculously over-priced clothes.

The best Christmas for me is what I'm doing right now. Spending time with my family, my son in front of me with his coloring book, my wife sitting next to me while we're watching the old Miracle on 34th Street. :) Back to the movie!

Merry Christmas to everyone!!

:D

None, Santa forgot to come. :(

Actually we don't do Christmas until the afternoon, so I haven't gotten my presents yet. And even then it won't be everything. I have Christmas, part 2 with my Mom's family on Saturday. :)

When it comes to receiving gifts, I don't go for quantity, I go for quality. One cool thing is much better than a ton of crap. :D

- two pounds of dog feces

I heard that was the top selling gift this year.

Some of my siblings made me an arty set of my company's logo painted on textured wooden frames. Very cool and unique.

I also got a Jawbone Bluetooth headset for my iPhone and iChat.

My Xmas started on Friday and still isn't over. It's great just relaxing with family and playing with the niece and nephew.

Seems silly the printer I purchased does not come with a freakin' $10 USB cable. ****ing Hewlett Packard, I purchase a $300 printer and you can't throw in a USB cable? Now I have to drive two hours for a ten dollar item.

Why are you staring? People purchase things for themselves all the time!

I didn't see anyone begging for more gifts, no?

At any rate, the way my fambly does it; is if you see something awesome leading up to Christmas, snag it-- then that becomes your gift. One less thing for them to worry about, and they get the satisfaction of having "gotten" you a gift you'll like and use.

This year's been an amazing Christmas (gift-wise).

Had a Secret Santa who got me some kick ass goodies:
  • US Naval mug
  • US Naval multi-color pen
  • US Naval notebook
  • "Whirrled Peas" bumper sticker
  • and a red MINI-inspired tee (not yet arrived)

From someone v special, this absolutely amazing blankie: Barefoot Dreams CozyChic™ (twin sized) in rich espresso. This is easily the most amazing gift I've gotten all year and probably from many years. I love love love love love this blanket. Stock photo:

He also got me matching slippers, and the "coolest" thing: PJ warmers! Like an envelope that you place towel/ PJs, etc. into and it heats 'em up so they don't freeze your widdle tushie.

And from extended & immediate family (& Santa ;)):

  • $25 Macy*s GC
  • $25 Amazon GC
  • $?? Peet's (Coffee & Tea) GC
  • Rodney the Reindeer plush (larger of the 2-- pic pulled off google) and matching coin pouch

    Img 2007-05-20-184505.jpg

  • Some cash (gonna pay off some CC debt, ugh :()
  • A set of little cat-shaped magnets
  • A tiny "snowglobe" KrispyKreme ornament
  • A kick in the pants :p (a portfolio to display art)
  • An adorable acorn-shaped ceramic candle

Whew. That was a long-ass list.

This wasn't a big Christmas but I still enjoyed it a lot. I went to my Aunts and spent the night. I got a few things that I have been wanting for a while....

Here is what I got ->

Xbox 360 Holiday Bundle (with 2 free games)
Xbox Live for one year
PGR3 and Oblivion
HDMI Cables to hook it up to my HP HD Monitor I got for my B-Day (graphics look absolutely amazing on that display using Hi-Def)
200 Cash
75.00 Gift Certificate for Best Buy
A pair of dress pants with a matching shirt and four ties
And then I got a few odds'n ends.

Overall it was a good Christmas, I still have the Gingerbread house to make later this afternoon. And I'm still using the present I got last year for Christmas (My trusty first gen Macbook white).

Merry Christmas!

money

best friend:

whoever remarked about people being spoiled, my mother would be more upset if i told her i wanted nothing than if i just gave her a list of a few things to get me. she likes buying us presents, just like we like getting her presents! it's fun -- chill out. i care more about having a family and getting to be around them than any present, but getting and giving gifts is a lot of fun.

2 PS3 Games (TimeShift & CoD4)
A kick @$$ jacket
$60 iTunes cards
