I used to go to see a lot of movies on a regular basis in the movie theaters in my younger days and saw all kinds as I tend to enjoy all kinds of different ones, and as far as I can recall I only walked out of one after falling asleep in it for a bit, and that was "Lara Croft Tomb Raider - The Cradle of Life" (another one that's worth an "honorable mention" for me would be "Mystery Men").

^^ @C DM I loved Mystery Men. No accounting for taste, eh? :)

I might be really going against the grain here, and I'll admit it's hardly the worst movie I've ever seen (I honestly can't think of one atm) but I'd say Jurassic World sticks in my brain.

For some reason that really stood out to me as a let down. I have no idea why it was so overhyped.

Count me in as a huge Mystery Men fan, it's comedy, not drama. :D Jurassic World strikes me as ok, I can't say the worst. It was actually cool is see an opened park. :)

Where do I begin?

EDIT:
For 70-80s Shaw Brothers, that would be The Bloody Parrot (though it was really funny in spots).
For 90s Italy, Dario Argento's The Stendhal Syndrome (okay everything Dario has made post-Opera is utter crap, but this was atrocious.)
Current Hong Kong: The Lost Bladesman. How do you utterly mess up a film about the legendary Guan Yuchang? Hire Donnie Yen to play him.
For current Hollywood, The Force Awakens.

Now there are a lot of bad/worst movies I love, simply because that is the way I roll (case in point, I love Snake Prince now. :p)

Off the top of my head:

The 3 Hobbit movies. Just an insult to a wonderful children's tale. Jackson later admitted they went into this pretty much clueless, and it shows.
The 2nd and 3rd Lord of the Rings adaptation. Whereas the first movie had some entertainment value, the 2nd goes downhill fast and the third was like running the Gauntlet to a Tolkien fan like myself. Phillips Boyens (the screenwriter largely responsible for the desecration of Tolkien's writing) should be made to write "I should not allow my arrogance to muck up classic works of literature" about a million times, using Dolores Umbridge's 'Blood Quill' [Harry Potter and the Order o/t Phoenix.]
Peter Jackson's King Kong. I'd rather watch paint dry. Jackson should just stick to the cheap blood 'n gore horror genre instead of butchering classics.
Jackie Brown. Major yawn fest. I find Tarantino extremely overrated as a director and haven't watched another movie by him since. Pretty sure I'm not missing much. :)
The Matrix sequels. The original was brilliant, spawning so much story potential ripe for further exploration. Then the Wachowskis ruined it with convoluted story plots, boring narratives "explaining" the story rather than showing it, a "love" story between two characters whose on-screen chemistry could make hell freeze over, endless repetitive fight sequences..... and a subterranean caveman rave. WTF?o_O
The Road. Hated all of the cast members' performances. Especially the kid. And what mother would walk out on her own family/child in times like that!? Awful. Turned it off half way through, no desire to finish it either.

I also can't bring myself to watch most super hero movies. Avengers, Spiderman, Captain America, Pirates o/t Caribbean, The Hulk, X-men, Transformers, etc. Shallow stories, over-dependance on visual effects for no other reason than to serve up eye candy and generally uninspired cinematography. No thanks... just not worth the time.

Watching Gravity up in the ISS

'twas her space undies that got a lot of attention if I remember. The space undies were 12.5% of the reason I myself watched the film.

But I have to use this as an example of Bad Film and simply Overhyped Film:
- Bad film? Ladyhawke. The Wizard of Speed & Time. Heck, even 1998's Godzilla.
- Overhyped film? Gravity. Interstellar. Jurassic World.

@Lone Deranger - I agree about Jackson's King Kong...and I've only seen the first two of those super boring, super formulaic super hero movies.

The one that immediately comes to mind is Wolf Of Wall Street.

So slow, ignored all the interesting strands of the story and was way, way too long.
LOL just goes to show how subjective these type of things are. That movie was fantastic.

Not everyone's cup of tea? Sure.

But a bad movie by any stretch? No.

Lots of really bad movies, but I only count ones that had enormous potential, huge budgets, all-star casts, every chance to be great.... and still were steaming piles.

A.I. comes to mind right now. Wanted to gouge my eyes out after wasting my time with that.

Oh and "The Good German" with George Clooney. So bad I laughed at it- cheesy wanna-be Cassablana.

Gymkata (1985)
The Skill of Gymnastics. The Kill of Karate.

Yes, that's the movie's actual headline.

Plot:
The US SIA (Secret Intelligence Agency) recruits an Olympic gymnast to go to the country of Parmistan so that he will fight in a deadly contest where the winner gets to ask for one wish. They intend him to wish for Parmistan to allow the US to install an SIA base. The SIA trains him with karate, which combined with his gymnastic skills, results in the new fighting style called "Gymkata".

Conveniently whenever he needs to get into a big fight, there happens to be a pommel horse or set of parallel bars nearby:

I forgot about this movie and probably for good reason. I had to stop this and move onto something else only to come back and watch it till the end a few days later. God this one was bad. Some of the scenes were good, but then there was just to much that went over the top.

There wasn't a problem with production or acting on King Kong - it was just way too long. 3 hours? C'mon. Could've packed that into 2 hours tops and included a bit more action. The length is what killed it in my book.

I pretty much dislike all horror movies. I just don't get why someone would like watching them.
I'm with you there. The worst part is that the first act of any horror movie is usually so damn interesting that I'd rather it just continue. The stories they establish can be rich and novel because they always end the same.

A new form of life is created! What are the ethical and social implicati—OH, IT KILLED EVERYBODY!

The first strong AI is commissioned! What are the ethical and social implicati—OH, IT KILLED EVERYBODY!

An alteration to the human genome is discovered, granting powers to its recipients! What are the ethical and social implicati—OH, IT KILLED EVERYBODY!

There was some over the top scenes that ruined the experience for me. The dino scene was too much along with the spider and insect nest scene. Way to much.

Just watched Now you See Me 2 for some reason. That's up there for so many reasons but especially this:
Woody Harrelson plays his own evil twin brother, complete with evil soul patch.

Same problem with the Hobbit trilogy IMHO. The length of LOTR trilogy worked well on the other hand, and those are among my favourite films, as there was much more material to work with. It really depends.

I've probably posted this before, but when Jackson said he was filming the Hobbit I was excited, LOTR is mostly fantastic, but when it went from one movie to two, I was a little concerned given the quantity of the source material - but _then_ when they made it another trilogy, and I started reading about new characters, additional plotlines, I was actually pissed off a little :D

I'd say there's a good 3 hour movie, even on the longer side two good 2 hour movies (there's a good logical place to split them which is why though the duology wasn't a bad idea).

In additional to removing all the fluff, extra characters, etc., edit them so there's some tonal consistency.

The Box - only movie I actually walked out of.

The only movie to this day that I have walked out of was the "Crow 2". When we went up to the box office to get our money back, yeah we walked out within the first 20 minutes. The lady said to us, yeah you are not the first ones to come up here and ask for a refund.
Thankfully I didn't see The Box in theaters -- someone invited me over to watch it. Unfortunately that didn't change the fact that that movie was atrocious. I'm still not sure what I watched.

Worst ever film - Prime. Left the cinema after 20 minutes, even then it was too long to stay but the seat was comfy and I had my popcorn to eat.

Bio:
A career driven professional from Manhattan is wooed by a young painter, who also happens to be the son of her psychoanalyst.

Dude! In my books that's one of the best movies ever! Awesome villain, how he went from good to the Ai taking over. Bloody awesome story. Ain't that funny we have differing takes on it.
Sorry, old post but I have to agree. Alfred Molina as Dr Octavius was perfectly cast and brilliantly acted. It's definitely my favourite of the lot. 93% on RT.

The 3rd Spidy however - was a mess. And that dancing scene - what were they thinking?! o_O

So, so bad and cringe-worthy...

The latest I have seen is The great wall ....comes to my list of top 5 worst movies ever. My god, what a nonsense o_O
