With starlight available my guess is the take rate for silver will be near 0.I prefer the classic silver. But if midnight was my thing, I might reconsider it based on the fingerprint issue.
I guess it depends on how you feel about fingerprints on your stuff in general. It bugs me to see the fingerprints on my keyboard keys, which is their natural habitat. My hands are super clean and it still looks like I was eating fried chicken while I was typing 🤷♂️
I had the same impression when handling it. Looks better in person, fingerprints are hard to wipe off, and from a distance, looks like my work Dell… I’ve had SG for seven years over several computers, so I’ve gone silver this time.Midnight is better in person then in the photos and it really does change color depending on the angle you look at it. But from far away it looks like any old black laptop..Lenevo, Dell etc.
"Older"?? I think you mean "Classic"!On the other hand Silver looks 'older' and less special.
The current space gray gets fingerprints as well, all Macs do. I don’t get why people are acting like the Midnight is suddenly the only one that gets fingerprints that show.Just saw the MacBook Air in the apple store and honestly midnight colour isn’t nice, it’s a blue tint that just looks odd and the fingerprints wow even the manager at the store said they keep cleaning it but just holding it made so many finger prints, why did apple release this colour with this issue

A quick wipe down with the $1,900 Apple Polishing Cloth, and the problem is solved (meant $19.00).Visibility factor![]()
It's the darkest anodised aluminium Mac released and you can now see why they previously hadn't done this, it's looks a mess very quickly. Yes they all show fingerprints but on the previous darkest option, Space Grey, they are much less noticeable. The current space gray gets fingerprints as well, all Macs do. That may be true as far as being noticeable but, I think people here are making way too much about that insignificant aspect. Wipe it down once a day or wear gloves if people can’t work on their computer if it has any fingerprints. I already keep my stuff looking new anyway so, it isn‘t a big deal for my to wipe down the M2 along with my other Macs. It's the darkest anodised aluminium Mac released and you can now see why they previously hadn't done this, it's looks a mess very quickly. People will find anything to complain about,So now that it's been quite confirmed and displayed on multiple YouTube reviews, that the glorious Midnight color is a total fingerprint hog, anyone reconsidering their choice of color?
I'm on the fence. I've been wanting a black-ish MacBook since what, the last one in 2006 or so. I can probably deal with the fingerprints. Right? Right. Right……? T_T
