Alright, I deleted the version I got from Cydia, downloaded the newest version, unzipped, copied it to my themes folder, and enabled it in winterboard. Now when I go to the config.html page I get this:

What did I do wrong??

Edit: Wow, I feel so stupid. I didn't delete the database. Carry on.
What did you do to fix that? How do I delete the database?

Just got the newest package in Cydia and it's not working. I've erased it and reinstalled it and it keeps coming up with the question mark in the center. Plus, I'm not getting the normal config page in Safari, I'm getting the one like the above one.

What should I do to get it working? I love this theme, btw!!

Hey Claude.
I spent all of yesterday trying to get this on my iPad, and eventually came to the decision at I would have to create my own backgrounds, and tweak the themes size and positioning to look as good on the iPad as it does on the iPhone.
It took me a while to find a position that looked good in both landscape and portrait configurations, but it think I've got it down now.

I've also created 0-23 backgrounds at 1024*1024 for the ipads screen and to support it's rotation, however as I didn't have access to the original rotating backgrounds , they are not a direct match to the iPhone version, however I've created iPhone sized backgrounds too for anyone who wants both their devices to follow the same colours and look.

With your permission Claude I will upload the modified slantedlockipad.theme and the new bg24hr for iPhone on this forum.

Here are screenshots of the ipad.

And here is the iPhone
obviously the different backgrounds are all the same as the ipad ones, but at this size :

Great work
Do you know how to make it backgrounds only
Also can i enable this without winterboard?

Claude.... What's happened to the settings?! Mine no longer shows anything...

Settings App > Safari > Databases > click "edit" and delete "SlantedLockCache"

Hey that looks good! I was actually in the process of porting the exact look and layout over to the iPad, but you're a step ahead of me! :eek:

If you want, you can upload your theme files here and I can include it in the first post for everyone to easily grab. Crediting your work of course. ;)

I imagined that you've created a new set of backgrounds and a new CSS file right? When I got my CSS file done, users can chose to use your background, which fits on the iPad and can use my CSS if they want the same texts layout design.

Well Claude I am really loving this lock screen. Thanks a bunch for all the hard work and making it happen.

One thing though, I think I would prefer the original iPhone slide to unlock, slide to power off, etc. Can you or someone tell me where these images are located on the iPhone and what folder in your theme I need to put them in.

Thanks!

yes, i created a custom .CSS and custom backgrounds,
you might want to use my iphone backgrounds also to keep the look the same across the theme, obviously you dont have to but i will upload them just in case.

here are the ipad backgrounds -

and the custom .css for people who want to get this on the ipad now -

just make sure that when you go to your file:// config in safari you specify that you want SlantedLockiPad as the config file

thanks for the support!

Nice work with the changing wallpapers,very cool indeed.

one thing....and I could be wrong here,but it seems to me the rotating wallpapers are based on each hour of the day from 1-23 right?

so,that means each hour we get a new updated wallpaper according to a image that is preset into the wallpaper file. So for instance 18.jpg would be 6pm and 20.jpg is 8pm based on the 24hour clock.

now,what i dont get is what happens in middle of winter when its 6pm and pitch black outside?....or visa versa 6pm and middle of summer and sunny out still?

i guess this is me being picky,but shouldnt there actually be 4 different seasons of wallpapers?.....so sunset and sunrise times can be as closely matched to the wallpapers?

otherwise i love the idea,just needs to be perfected for each time of the year.

keep up great work!!

Yes, you are being picky, but I was thinking the same thing. This is obviously a first version of this and it will only get better. I'm a fan also!

Hmm, Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the iPad's screen size 768x1024(w x h)?

Also, plz PM me if you want to give my CSS a test drive and provide me with screenshot. I do not have an iPad to test it on. :(

Here's how it SHOULD look.... Actual device always deviates a bit, so need tester.
EDIT: Yikes, I had forgotten that the iPad rotates. Making its wallpaper 1024x1024

Wow. I never thought of those stuff. :eek: But I imagine it's not a hard fix. You can simply duplicate the wallpapers and offset the image names forward or backward as far as you want. Save it as "Winter24bkg" or something and set that in config. ;)

Claude and I happen to live where there are no real seasons, we don't think of these types of things.

The best way to handle it would probably create a "season_offset" variable that would be used just for the wallpaper display and change based upon the month.

if ( month == "Jan" || "Feb" then
season_offset = -2
)
if ( month == "Mar" || "Apr" then
season_offset = -1
)
if ( month == "May" || "Jun" then
season_offset = 0
)
if ( month == "Jul" ||"Aug" then
season_offset = 1
)
if ( month == "Sep" || "Oct" then
season_offset = 0
)
if ( month == "Nov" || "Dec" then
season_offset = -1
)

wall_hour = hour + season_offset

(or whatever the Javascript version of that would be)

Ok guys, Im really loving this rotating wallpaper option we now have,very cool!

love the idea,hated the basic wallpapers.....so I took my fave retina wallpapers,and renamed them and made them sorta match the time of day....love it!

anyone wants this setup,just replace your ''slbkg24hr'' folder with this NEW one i made(its in the images folder)

love it, you guys rock!

EDIT: I guess i cannot upload such a large zip file....well here is a screenshot of how i renamed my retina wallpapers,you get the idea....how great to see my custom wallpapers come up each hour!

remember when you rename,each number coincides with 24hr clock(IE: 2.jpg=2am or 18.jpg=6pm)

Yeah, I did the same thing with mine. I much prefer a beautiful nature shot than some low-rez graphics.

And that's why I had built the configuration to accept a user defined set of wallpapers. ;)
Yeah, but I'm not using Slanted Lock, but a vastly modified version of your first .css-based package. I injected some code Mathew23 posted last week to handle the changing wallpapers and then I bastardized my setup further to include the weather forecast I've been looking for.

I went rogue a long time ago.

I'm going to make copies of early a.m. wallpapers to delay the sunrise pics and have the darker ones start sooner for sunset. The wallpapers will still follow the same numbering but a few of the same wallpapers will appear more than once.

I guess you could do this with one of the .js files but I'm not good with that sort of thing. When I get around to it I'll only make one different folder. Having them match the true lighting conditions at all times isn't a big concern of mine. If it is something you want creating more alternate folders is the easy fix. :)

Yes claude the screen size is that, but due to rotation the wallpaper doesn't rotate relative to the device , it rotates in relation to the user
So the bottom edge of the wallpaper which is the shortest 768px edge is stretched to 1024 when rotated.
Normal wallpapers zoom in in landscape but this script doesn't , which is good otherwise you would have the info zooming too, which would exceed the screen size
So the background has to fit an iPad in portrait and an iPad in landscape on the canvas
Hard to explain, so hope u get my drift :p
Upload your iPad CSS and I will give it a test drive :D
