I downloaded my Slantedlock with Cydia and am using YahooWeather in canada.
The weather info is not caching. Everytime I lock and come back on, the weather reloads itself and fetches data. I checked my data usage, it goes up 0.1 MB every 2-3 times that I lock my iphone. I did this a couple of times to make sure and it is definitely not caching.

Am I missing something here?

If you changed anything in the configuration, it will force a new fetch. You will know that the weather is cached if you turn off internet and still see weather.

Also, if your interval is too close then obviously it will fetch often. I have mine set at 60 minutes.

Yes Obviously I know that. I turned off wifi and just used 3G. Didnt change anything in the config. I set my time for 90 min. When I come back on from lock, most of the time I don't see the weather until 1-2s later.

That's correct. Just because it's lagging a bit doesn't mean it's fetching. It's processing your wallpaper and running through its checks.

I think of everybody using my theme, I would be the most concerned. I'm only on a 200MB data plan.... and I wrote SlantedLock BECAUSE of this caching feature... I would defeat my purpose if I hadn't tested this function THOROUGHLY. ;)

Uhhh me too. And it is definitely using my data everytime I lock my phone.
Could it have anything to do with turning wifi on and off, fetch everytime I change?

i really do like this theme but it seems like it's using up alot of ram so i don't know if i want to keep it. free memory is showing 30-40mb less of what i normally have.

If you have SBSettings, double check your processes. ;)

There's no WAY SlantedLock is eating 30-40MB of memory. lol

well after about an hour of standby, the ram starts to drop. i don't know what's causing it. i disable the weather too.

the first pic is with the theme off. second is after an hour with the theme on.

I searched the entire thread and found that someone asked this question, but I don't think it was answered.

Is there any way for us to find out what fonts are available for us to switch to? And if we can use our own uploaded custom fonts?

Thanks!

A quick google for "ios 4.0 fonts" gives this list: http://www.prepressure.com/fonts/basics/ios-4-fonts

Kinda old, but I'd assume nothing's been removed.

The first hit for the above search gives this: http://www.iphoneruler.net/how-to-install-iphone-fonts-ios-4

Awesome :D

I wasn't exactly sure what to google, otherwise I would have done it myself. Thanks again!

How can I get rid of the "Slide to View" when I get a new text?

In your themes directory, find SpringBoard.strings
It should be in path /yourtheme.theme/Bundles/com.apple.springboard/en.lproj/SpringBoard.strings
Note: en.lproj is for English.

Here's an example SpringBoard.strings:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
<plist version="1.0">
<dict>
<key>AWAY_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string> </string>
<key>POWER_DOWN_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string> </string>
<key>SLIDE_TO_ANSWER</key>
<string> </string>
<key>SMS_LOCK_LABEL</key>
<string> </string>
</dict>
</plist>

Notice the entry <key>SMS_LOCK_LABEL</key>...blanks between the subsequent <string> </string> will suppress the "slide to view" message.

There were already spaces between those. I added more, but the text still shows up when my phone wakes up after getting a new text.

Got Slantedlock on and looking lovely but I still have the original time and date in the top middle of the lockscreen - so its actually sitting on top of the slantedlock time, date, weather etc.
How can I get rid?

Get lockscreen clock hide from Cydia

Is it normal for there to be a few seconds delay in updating the time when the lockscreen is activated?
It can be disconcerting when the lockscreen says one time initially, and then a few seconds later jumps ahead to the correct time

Quick question... I've pretty much got my screen perfect in the way that I want it :) The only problem, though, is for the life of me, I cannot "scoot" the description away from the temp... I never modified the spacing in the weather area to begin with, so I'm not sure why it's spaced all funny. I've tried margin-right for the temp, and margin-left for the description, but it's not budging... I even tried margin:0 50px 0 0 for the various areas on top to see if it would move, but I can't get the description to go anywhere. Any ideas? I want to space it out "evenly" so the distance is the same between the location, temp, and description.

Kinda same thing with the day, date, and year... How do I keep the spacing the same bt/t day to date to year??? It is sometimes too far or too close depending on the date... I've been trying to tweak the values, but find that I need to change pretty often when the date changes... I can't fix it :(

Any advice/help would be appreciated!

Also, kinda off-topic, but is there any way to hide the "F" for the Fahrenheit???

Thanks in advance!

Hi, so i found my error...It's ok for my iPhone4.
But i have a problem with my 3Gs with the Default wallpaper option.

Will you be adding new bgs for Winter Holidays?

Any chance someone will be making a series of Christmas wallpapers to go with Slanted Lock?

Pretty please. :D

Well, you 2 are in luck. :) I just updated the first post with a download link to a set of 24 Christmas wallpapers. I think they look nice. Enjoy!
