I keep trying, but getting this error:



We’re unable to complete your iPhone order at this time.

Based on the information you provided, you may have to pay a deposit before you can purchase an iPhone and establish an account with AT&T. You can pay this deposit and purchase an iPhone at an Apple Retail Store.


I am ATT Premier customer, I have a FAN account, I guess this is giving all the trouble!
 
apple.com no go (getting this error above)
apple store app no go (no additional line option)
att premier no go (site is down)

WTF!
 
I got this message when trying to preorder a Verizon IP5 with a new account. :(

Currently on at&t and was planning on switching to Verizon. There shouldn't be any reason why I would have to pay a deposit.
 
Guys, I was having the same problem, but I was able to get my order in using the iPhone app... It was a bit slow, but I already got my confirmation email. (ATT FAN acc...)

I got the same error message...trying to add a line to an existing Family Talk plan. The apple store app didn't give me the option of adding a new line to an existing account. It only offered me to upgrade the current iPhone or change carriers. Mine is also a FAN account.

That's strange. I have a FAN on my AT&T account (20% discount) and it went through just fine for me. Ordered online through store.apple.com.

Was a deposit required when you first opened your account?
 
in the same boat... on hold for 24 min. with att cust service...and already had gotten disconnected twice.... now music has stopped and its just silence..but still connected... and i'll i want to do is go to bed.. i have to wake up at 630 anyway

I want to add a third line (only way to do it is through apple.com or att.com) but i'm getting the deposit error. I had tried a dummy run earlier today and got no such thing.

Are you guy porting a number for the third line ?
 
Still trying to hit the AT&T Premier site.. Anyone having any success here?

well...just got disconnected for 3rd time on 611.... this time after 29min.. so i've spent 52min total on hold with them... fml
 
Adding line or new service needs a credit check.

If the check cannot complete with a thunbs up (servers may be swamped)
you would get that type of message

On previous years it took me a while to place my order, their site was down, just like it is now, this was my first time using the app, but I was not having any luck with apple.com or att.com, don't give up... (heck, it took me 13 hours none stop to place my order for my iPhone 4 on release day :( )
