I seriously doubt they change the camera array that way. They are pushing 3D spatial video and the cameras need to be next to each other in landscape.
What is the big deal about the under-the-screen fingerprint sensor? It seems a lot of people want it, but why?
To be folded, in due time. Also, they ditch the $$$ Plus model in favor of the $$$$$ Slim/Ultra.Why does it need to be thinner?!

The entire iPhone release roadmap is bonkers. I’m still on a XS and I don’t need anything faster.
Hence why I don't care about leaks anymore. I just enjoy the phone I have and upgrade when I want to. Tech is always advancing. If I fancy an upgrade I'm not going to wait "in case the next model is better" as that's pretty much always the case. I currently use a 15 Pro and am happy with it. If the 16 Pro's improvements tickle my fancy I'll upgrade, if not I'll wait to see what the 17 series brings.the good stuff is always the following year...
I keep hearing that, and waiting….the good stuff is always the following year...
I don't understand this either.. Face ID is so fast and convenient. The other day I was setting up an older iphone for my FIL and I realized how much slower and cumbersome touch ID is in comparison. Not sure why anyone would want to go back to that.
Whether or not the bump moves, I doubt the cameras will be arranged like the Pixel because that would stop it form being able to take Spatial photos/videos for the Vision Pro unless they were portrait only.Relocated Cameras
Along with a thinner and lighter design, the high-end iPhone 17 could feature the first major rear camera overhaul. Rumors suggest that the cameras could be relocated from the top-left corner of the iPhone to the top center, which could result in a design similar to the Google Pixel.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a raised band across the back of the device that houses a trio of cameras, a laser detect auto focus sensor, and a flash.
Apple is still testing designs for the iPhone 17, but the relocated camera bump is a possibility.
Meh. Apple made a big deal about Titanium on the Powerbooks until they went to Aluminum on the following Powerbooks. Designs change.Weird choice to change the design to be thinner AND change from a notoriously strong material like Titanium (which they made such a big deal about during the last iPhone launch) to a notoriously soft material like aluminium. Either Apple have been sniffing glue, or these leakers are just saying stuff. Either way, I wish this was this years iPhone and not another year away.
That would be called an iPhone protective case...Thinking there's at least a few of them out there.Any chance we can get a feature that makes the iPhone not so flimsy, so it doesn't break easily. :>
This comment itself is rather misleading. Why is this Article written to be Misleading ?
Apple is rumored to be using a new display coating.
The new coating is said to have improved anti-reflective properties and better scratch resistance than the current Ceramic Shield coating. It's been described as a "super-hard anti-reflective layer" in leaks.
Apple is a Samsung CustOmer, they buy Samsungs Displays. Want to see what new AntiReflective Coating they will get ? Head over to BestBuy and Pick Up an S24 Ultra, and you’ll see for yourself.
We NEED to stop using Language that makes it sound as if Apple has a Display Factory For iPhones.
"Biggest update in years" and it's just making the device thinner and moving the cameras around.💀
every new iphone release is the "most expensive phone to date". their prices on these things are just ridiculous! I remember buying my 4s for only a few hundred dollars, paid more than twice that for the 15PM
That’s the iPhone 16 (and iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max). Those are the iPhones that will be able to do on-phone AI processing. And with a much faster processor so AI processing can be done on-phone.
Funny how people forget about that.
The cost was probably just a bit hidden for the person. We were still doing that $200 subsidized carrier-locked phone with a two year contract back in 2011.Your math does not add up.
The base iPhone 4S cost $649 in 2011. Inflation calculators tell me that's about $900 in today's money.
The iPhone 15 starts at $800
Either your memory is faulty or you're buying higher-end models, which is your choice, but not anyone else's fault.
