So far iOS17 hasn’t given me anything new that I actually find useful .. first time this has happened.
And these features won’t change that.

Also still haven’t found any widget worth using, even with the improved functionality.

Pretty boring update.
I guess you’ve never received 2FA codes via email, or used Apple Home app.

I get that this is a minor update, but interactive widgets and automatic 2FA code deletion is useful.

Not on iOS. There is not inherent favorites playlist, smart or otherwise. You can make a favorited playlist on Mac Music, and it will copy over to iOS devices, but it does a very poor job of keeping synchronized. IOW, if you are listening to song on an iPhone and decide to "love" it, it won't update your favorited smart playlist.
Yes, but if I am listening on an iPhone and give a song a 5-star rating, it automatically gets added to my 5-star playlist on all my devices. Or if I listen to one song a lot on my iPhone and it enters my "most-played" playlist, my playlist is updated on all my devices. I never understood why Apple undermined the star-ratings features, and the inability to have smart playlists better integrated.

Honestly I just never deleted them. They don’t bother me. Probably because iMessage isn’t really used for messaging where I live.

I do use the home app. But I find having more apps on the main homescreen more useful than a quick access to something I already have in the control center.

But I finally found something I like. The warning that I’m holding the phone too close to my eyes

Curious about the carplay update. carplay is slowly becoming a bloatware.

This 'coming later this year' trend is awful. It just shows everything is rushed and they can't keep up with all the work or they just invent random stuff before the release just because they need more useless features to advertise. How come an arrow that takes you to the last message can't be released with ios 17.0?

Maybe they’ll fix imessages for iPad cos its borked
The worst thing we can do with our iPads is not use them for a week or so. Mine freaks the hell out and stops synchronizing with iCloud or even connecting to wifi. It’s ludicrous. It’s also now abandoned by iOS 17, sigh.

Your comment deserves a million likes. So sick of this industry BS.

You don’t find autocorrect that actually works to be worth it all by itself? Also I notice that just about all the animations have been cleaned up. Especially on the Watch everything feels snappier, no irony intended. With things like “Faster” haptic touch and a reduced press-and-hold delay for everything on the Watch, it literally is faster.

Hey all that work on Stickers took a really long time! Priorities!

I've been saying this for the last couple of release cycles now. It used to be that an announced feature might slip at the last minute due to unforeseen issues, but now the keynotes and announcements are just littered with tons of "cool things you'll get at some point down the road"

Any speculation as to when the Journal app will be coming out? It wasn't even included in the Developer releases which makes me think it could be pushed to 2024...

Aptera Motors is in talks for car play.
