Are Apple serious. 18 months and £500 for a product that isn't even finished. I do wonder how the hell these companies have the cheek to release an unfinished product on the market and charge what they have!

Scandalous!

Because some people seem to require "new" Apple products to maintain sanity.

Can't speak for it myself but from what I've heard of the UK version of Siri so far I've been completely put off.

You waited 18 months and spent £500 for Siri? It is one app on a new handset.

No. And I refuse to.

As it so happens I've bought every iPhone since the 3G and a look forward to their new products every year. Siri is not just an app, it's what the 4S is all about because lets face it, there's not much of a selling point without it

As a UK user am somewhat peeved that after a year and a half, they've only managed to release a half baked finished release of Siri that can't even tell me what Pizzarias are in the area!

I don't care if I get flamed for my comments. My rose tinted glasses are slowly coming off and I can see it for what it is.

How is it a BETA?

What Certinfy says...

It's a half baked release anywhere except the US!

You clearly haven't used it yet. Try it before you post uninformed nonsense. It's no where near a normal Beta in form.

As for it being behind else where, would you rather have the phone released much later than the US per usual?

Are they not? Oh well I can't wait to download ios5 on my iPhone 5 to get a bit of Siri-ness. Oh wait I have. It's not there!!

Yep. I have actually. My brother upgraded from 3GS

Appl Corps. Just because millions of other people are, doesn't man I don't hav an opinion. It's relevant and appropriate. Move on...

Lewys, location services are none existent and it fails to understand the broad range of accents in the UK. Not everyone speaks the queens English!

to the OP:

You have a right to be put off if you bought it, because Siri doesn't work with maps and locations outside the US (yet). I can understand that.
You don't have the right to be put off if you didn't buy it - it's an improvement in processor and camera, and with some OS advantages over other iOS devices. You want better, pay for it. You don't want better, stick with what you already have.
It's simple.

I can understand people overseas frustration but then again - you don't have to buy it if you don't feel like it's worth your money.

Apple has fooled each and every one of you guys by making you guys think Siri is worth the upgrade.

Of course Alvin. I don't have to buy it

It just gets on my nerves that yet again another company releases an incomplete product on the market and uses the general public as a means of feedback and error reporting. For £500, it should be a final product, not a BETA

Honestly they didn't MAKE you buy it. Its just a new version for people who want it. Only reason I bought it was I still just had a 3G so I was getting it regardless of what it has.

If you dont like what it has to offer, dont buy it. Apple didn't lock you in the store till you paid them...

Both my brother and I got our phones today and so far we think Siri is awesome and it will only get better as the location services etc come online.

So what was the selling point of the 3GS from the 3G?

Last time I checked, the 3GS was merely a speed bump from the 3G...
