exfat not working

I've got an odd one. Can't get Safari to download/save a file to an exFAT partition which I'm using to share files with Windows. I can copy from the Finder, Speed Download, whatever and it works fine.

Just won't work with Safari.

I can't even get Lion to recognize my exfat partition. Did you install anything separate to get exfat to work?

Lion and Firewire Interface

Hi all.

Can't seem to get Lion to see my firewire audio interface. Tried re-installing drivers with no luck. Have heard other Firewire devices are behaving.

Anyone having similar issues?

few complaints for me here.

1) usb ethernet does not work. i have to use wifi which sucks when i use bluetooth. thus, slow internet.

2)unable to pinch zoom in mail. SL was able to zoom with pinching to enlarge the fonts of the mail. have to use command +/- now.

3)natural scroll direction works oppositely for 2 finger scrolling and 4 finger swipe between full screen apps. i can't configure individually for each of these. so it's like if i check the natural, 2 finger is natural and 4 finger is unnatural.

anyone having the same annoyance? solutions will be appreciated.

Screen sharing virtual displays pooched

Screen sharing to a virtual display is utterly broken, from what I can tell.

I've got 5 macs that I upgraded, and whenever I switch to a virtual display, the login window on the physical display winds up wedged and non-functional - complete with the Beach Ball of Fail. I generally wind up having to power-cycle the machine.

- Gmail PDF attachment in mail is inconsistent when multiple PDFs are attached.
- Paperclip icon in mail doesn't accurately represent attached PDFs.
- Heat
- Horrible battery life
- Intermittent hard locks with preview and BBoD

DVD Player doesn't work

It is amazing to me that Apple apps don't work like DVD Player. Specifically, with 2 monitor or laptop and projector configs, you can't go full screen on the second display. Used to be able to command-f to get the player to display full screen on the second display. Not with Lion.

Crud.

Mindjet Mindmanager for Mac doesn't work

And the guys at Mindjet don't have a timeframe for support.
Argh

I cannot get iTunes to recognize my iPhone 4 or my iPad 3G. The device lights up and starts charging when I plug it into a USB port but it does not show up in iTunes.

I have tried multiple USB ports and cannot get it either device to be recognized by iTunes. I am using a MacPro Early 2008.

Pre-Lion everything was fine -- anyone else having this same issue.

Same behavior for me.

Top sites and the cached preview image in safari 5.1 is broken. Often it will not take a picture for history and it will not update the page views by it self in top sites. Broken and buggy.

As for google chrome, you can exit full screen mode by hovering at the top, then clicking View>Exit full screen mode. No need to quit the app.

I'm having a weird problem with mission control, when I have chrome and itunes open on the same space, i Get the problem below. On any other space, I have no issues as all, it works as it should.

I found two other workarounds.

There is a keyboard shortcut to exit full screen. I think it's cmd-shift-f or perhaps option-shift-f to exit full screen.

Then there's option-tab which allows you to pick another app and it runs in front of chrome which has now become your wallpaper. Strange looking.

Things that are broken for me:
iTap VNC: waiting for iOS app to be updated.
LaCie NAS: loading 7/22/11 firmware which is supposed to fix issue
Crashplan: quick fix is run the crashplan app which forces java to load.
Scrollbars: I'm trying so hard to resist going in and "fixing" this in system preferences.

All my old rosetta apps (All 2 or 3 of 'em, none of which have I run for close to a year now): I wonder if Apple will let me run SL in a VM?

AFP version

Interestingly, I had to connect to a Terastation and upon attempting, Lion threw up an error about an outdated version. This has been my only problem. Luckily, I had a Snow Leopard machine around so accessing data on the Terastation was no big deal. BUT, as far as things that don't work in Lion, this has been my only stumbling block. I'm most pleased with this upgrade than with all previous upgrades.

The clear key isn't working anymore in the calculator widget (the key above 7). Which renders the only usefull dashboard widget useless for me. I used to use it a ton for quick calculations.

The "spin down hard drives when idle" feature is permanently set even though it's uncheked in my system preferences. This is extremely annoying on a Mac Pro full of hard drives. You need to wait ages for them to spin back up all the time.

That together with the tons of other issues and usability weirdness in Lion make for a huge disappointment, a first for an OSX upgrade!
The downsides far outweigh the upsides for me. But unfortunately we don't have an option, we have to upgrade since support for older OS's quickly disappears.
