I highly recommend you go ASAP. I got my white ip4 a week ago today and I felt lucky to have gotten 4.3.3 (although I imagine that they sell less white ones, which may have led to my luck)
Thank you-pardon my ignorant posts, should I restore before going to the store or can they diagnose it while Jailbroken and if they agree to swap it out, can I tell them I want to back up at home and come back?

uh oh, I wonder how to pull this off.
What if they give me one, any way to get out of it?

What you get is what you get I'm pretty sure.

If they see your phone is jailbroken, they may refuse you, depending on the genius.

No need to apologize :)

You probably could go home and then come back, but I do not see the benefit. I assume you have the SHSH for your current device? Just back it up in iTunes (make sure to back up your backup!!), restore it as new, and take it in there.

What are the issues that you're having with your phone? A lot of times, if you aren't on the current firmware when you bring it to Apple, they'll use that as the excuse and send you home. I always go in fully up to date :)

I have my SHSH, how can I backup the backup?
My issues are terrible battery life and my home button isn't being responsive.
I'd certainly hate going there and being stuck with newer firmware and not being able to JB.

It depends on whether you have a Mac or a PC, and what you're running.

For a Mac:

~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/

For a PC:

Windows XP stores all of your iPhone backup files in this location:

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Windows Vista and Windows 7 backs up the iPhone files to here:

C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup

Obviously if your main drive is not C: then you’ll have to change that, same goes for ‘user’

I would go this weekend if I were you :)

I would say just enjoy what you have. What's the point of jb if you have to be paranoid about everything?
Worst case just restore to official firmware. It's not like it will suddenly stop working.

Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (iPhone; Opera Mini/6.1.15738/25.692; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)

You can restore to whatever apple is pushing out (4.3.5 at the moment)
