So you visciosly caught in the cycle of S upgrades. You recently upgraded from your 3GS and got the new iPhone 4S. Your 3GS runs great with iOS5, but is no match for your new 4S. Do you leave it sit on your desk and rot? What else can you do with it?

Post your ideas of new and original things to do with your 3GS!

(besides selling it)

I put an activated iPad SIM in mine and put it in to my Ranger. Its connected to the OBD2 port for power and info. Runs Find My iPhone in the event I need it. Holds all of my music and syncs with iTunes when its in the driveway over WiFi. Still pretty good.

I've got a HDMI splitter sending Tivo and Sony BluRay to the bedroom. There are apps for both to control them over wi-fi, so I'm using it as a remote control.

My sister's upgrading from a 3G to a 4S. I will be taking her 3G. What I'm going to do is upgrade it to 4.2.1, jailbreak and unlock it so I can use it when I travel overseas. In case it gets lost or stolen, I wouldn't lose much. :)

iOS4 on a 3G is like running OSX on the Apple II, you'll regret the decision with how slow everything is.

The curved back of the 3GS makes it perfect for skipping in a lake. Seriously though, I plan to jailbreak my 3GS and see what I can get it to do.

Sell it to Gazelle. I got 121 for mine. They sent me a box and a slip to ship it for free.

Still have one laying around as well. Good to have as a backup, but likely will never get use.

This. It have a $138 offer. Hoping it holds or I may have a 3GS too lol.

I don't know that I would sell one for that cheap since it's not like it's bringing in a lot of money for you, and you may have a need for it at some point in the future.

My iPhone 4 with a malfunctioning display was valued at $89 by those guys. Unfortunately not the $250 I was going to get from Verizon when the thing actually worked, but if I actually get the gift card it will be the best of a bad situation.

my 3GS has a bunch of problems and i doubt I'll get much for it, so I think i may just keep it.

The Verizon trade in program shows $150 for the iPhone 4 16Gb fully working, are you sure they were offering you $250? Maybe they changed it now with the new one out.
