A mattress set. ;)
Sooooo true.

Alcohol
Steak
Agreed. However, you can make any type of steak taste good if you know how to season and cook it properly.

2. My gadgets... iPhone, iPad, MBP
I'm a snob as well.

contact lenses
I hear ya. Contact lens solution should be added. I've yet to find a store brand that didn't burn my eyes at first. I'm all about the hydrogen peroxide type now (Clear Care).

If your car doesn't require premium gasoline, you're wasting you money.
See I see it differently, if your car requires premium gasoline, you've already wasted your money. :D

I'll add to the list:
Headphones
Cookware
Personal Hygiene products

Old Chinese proverb: Buy expensive, Cry once.

Protective equipment associated with the sports I enjoy playing.
I don't look left when picking out equipment.

But sometimes I want to taste steak, not seasoning. That's where the quality of the beef matters.
Oh I completely understand. Unfortunately for me that only means filet mignon. Every other cut is inferior in my opinion (and honestly not that good without seasoning). I season my steaks 95% of the time so it really doesn't matter to me.

Mmmmmm! You're making me hungry! I go back and forth - sometimes I really want it nicely seasoned, and sometimes not. But regardless, few things are better than a good steak!

Food and whisky.

And there are much better cuts out there than filet. Then again, I prefer more gamey flavors.

my computers.

and my quad parts, dont want a cheap part to fail when your flying 25ft in the air at 30mph.....

my race quad has over 20k invested lol....

My wife got me into rubs so I've been experimenting with different ones. We almost have more rubs for meat than we do cooking spices!

Toilet paper

I'll even bring my own when staying in a hotel. My family/friends have accepted I'm a weirdo.

Food (includes alcoholic beverages)
Medical stuff
Anything safety related - why risk no-name brake pads that save you $5?

Tyres for cars and bikes. I hate cheap bikes. They don't last half as long and you only have to replace it after a couple of years. And cheap tyres are dangerous.

I figured this would be a good idea for a new thread!

What are somethings you never see your self going the cheaper route on?

My top 3 are
1. Sky-Diving lessons/sessions
2. Gasoline-AKA the regular cheapest quality/
3. Tires. And auto brakes for cars

All gasoline is made the same.

medications

some clothing articles

food

contact lenses

massage therapy

good workers pay

All Medications in Canada are the same, it's a regulated item.

My Macrumors posts
Tires, Brake, Car parts in general
Gadgets
My toothbrush

Caffeinated cola beverages. It's either the good stuff or I thirst to death.
Tea, the food one. Breakfast and dinner can suck it.
Rare games.

Food, given the choice I'd rather eat less good food than more cheap and bad food.

I'd like to say clothes, but it's something I always cheap out on, if I only bought fitting clothes that I like that'd be all I'd spend my money on, not that I have particularly expensive taste, I'm just tall and women's clothes for tall women tend to hold a hefty premium :(

Nope, I don't think so. There are higher levels of octane content (or something like that) in different types of gasoline. I think that the higher the octane the less "knocking" or "pinging" an engine has. I'm not totally sure what it exactly means. Something to do with compression or something like that.
And one company's regular gas is different than another company's regular gas in terms of quality.

Yep. And the premium octane rating in the US is the lowest, supermarket dirt rating here in the UK. Hence my Lotus gets "cheap" supermarket petrol. And likes it :D

Toilet Paper (I tried one of those 4 packs of single ply for a buck while I was in college. I will NEVER do that again).

Golf Balls (A ProV1X is a lot different than a Top Flite).

Soda (never had a good store brand soda).
