I wiped the discs everything went smooth until now, it’s stuck on "Create a computer account" after a while an errormsg pops up stating "Computer account creation failed"
Dont know what to do here. How do I get past this screen?
You can't get past that screen. Go to post #26 in this thread and follow those instructions.

Got it. Thanks. But I can't get the reset password popup to show. But I've removed the computer from my iCloud account and got the option to erase Mac. Currently installing

They're new instructions and they stipulate to select "erase volume group" which seems to be an important part of not causing problems.
I see. I'm not sure that is proven. In my case, I deleted the Mac HD and then deleted Data afterward, together which I assume is the group. After that I got the same error message as Dockland.

No, that's not the same thing and is possibly why you're having this problem.
Either follow @SpeQ 's instructions or go to the previous Apple instructions here
https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT211983#recoveryassistant
from after "Use Apple Configurator"

I followed post #26 and it’s working now 🤩
Good to hear.
Just for the future can you confirm that you chose "erase volume group" from bottom left whilst in Disk Utility please?
It matters, as if you did that it makes Apple's new instructions wrong.
Thanks.

My theory (and it’s only a theory) is there’s something additional happening when you erase via Recovery Assistant, as opposed to using Disk Utility, (which confusingly is also in Recovery Assistant). When you erase via Recovery Assistant, you get that Activate Mac screen, which I think must be a necessary component in the process. It may also be a part of the resetpassword process, but regardless, it seems to be necessary and it doesn’t happen using Disk Utility alone.

It does, but only if you select "erase volume group"

I followed these instructions using Apple Configurator and the actual part of entering DFU & restoring the drive took roughly 10 minutes. Maybe less. I’m restoring from a Time Machine backup now via a USB-C WD Drive and it’s showing it’ll be about another 3 hours to finish. That’s for roughly 1½ TB of data on my “Macintosh HD” Drive.
