The Kindle App does this very nicely, where you can lock the screen so it doesn't rotate. You know, since a lot of people read books while laying down. I would love to be able to turn off the coverflow in the iPod app, as most of my music is from CDs and I have not added the album art yet because I am lazy. haha. Plus I hate coverflow, and really wish you could shut it off.
Just my two cents. I couldn't care less about the landscape stuff, because the only time I go to landscape is when the text is too small on a Web site to read in portrait. I can't stand the wide keyboard in landscape...I'm too used to the more cramped one, and make more mistakes on the wide one.
I honestly don't see the point for it. What's wrong with the way it is now?
Now that we have the landscape keyboard through out the native apps and (hopefully) soon on all the 3rd party apps, wouldn't it be cool to have a landscape mode on the home screen too?
I'm thinking the icons all stay in the same spots, they just rotate so they're right side up. Same with the 4 in the dock, they don't change positions, just rotate. That way, they only things that would move would be the carrier info/time/battery indicator.
It seems like it'd be pretty cool to switch from app to app without having to go in and out of landscape mode.
So what's everybody think? Mmm, mmm, mmm?
jailbreak! there is an app for that
why should i? it is already available.Yet you don't provide the app.
noo i dont seem it being practical.. and theres really no point..![]()
I doubt it..just not enough screen real estate like the iPad. If you really want it you can jailbreak your phone. I forgot the name of the tweak but it allows landscape homescreen.
No point for you. It makes perfect sense to me. One thing is that I have big hands and every app that I type in I do so in landscape. It's annoying changing the way I hold the phone constantly. I would prefer if the lock button would lock the phone (system wide) in whichever orientation I choose.
