Ok, I made a decision and bought a Macbook pro with retina from Best Buy. I haven't been using it much, because I enrolled in an Apple class at our local tech college and it was cancelled, and I'm waiting til the next one. I don't know how to get my stuff off windows over to the mac. Plus I didn't get much memory, because the salesman said I could put everything on an external drive. So I bought an external drive. Now I wonder if I made the right decision but, oh well.

Anyway, I can't tell you, yet, if I love it, but I continue to hate Windows 8, lol.

what is problem with win8? win8.1 has been great and the best since win2000. work as it should, no crashing, no need to "refresh". been working like a charm for two years...

how about using that external drive, that you already have, to get your stuff from your win?

Windows 8 crashes and freezes my computer. I do have to refresh a lot. I spent 2 hours on photoshop a few days ago fixing a family pic with 18 people. So many babies I ended up having to change heads to get everyone looking at the camera. My computer crashed before it was saved.

I do clean up my computer, so it's not that.

Call Apple Tech support and they can assist you; no need to wait to start using your new MBP, jump right into it!

In the future, (or consider exchanging this one) always buy as much storage as you thing you'll need; it beats having to lug around an external drive.

Memory is not the same thing as storage space. You are talking about storage. Memory = RAM. Two very different things.

There is a nifty little thing called Migration Assistant that comes bundled with OS X, which I would look into if I were you.
