Do you prefer better battery life but thicker iPhone or thinner iPhone less battery life?

Hence the problem with Air was never battery life. It’s clear from this poll that even if Air could get the same battery life as 17 Pro Max right now, it doesn’t matter. If 17 Pro Max could get even longer battery life with Silicon-Carbon battery, people would go for that.
Battery life is just one of the reasons, we all have reasons why we pick what we pick over another.
For me personally Battery Life, Cameras, Speakers, aluminium build allowing better heat dissipation and a lot of the under the hood stuff (Vapour Chamber, the top shelf A19 Pro etc…).

As someone who owned a Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max, I’m quite happy to see Apple fix the heat issues, it is like day and night when I am using my camera heavily (15 PM vs 17 PM).

68 days in with my Air and battery life of my device has not been of concern. I am never too far away from a charging station and have a few MagSafe Power packs handy, if needed. My battery health is still 100% with 55 charge cycles.

What about ideal balance between thickness and battery life? It seems to be right around 8mm, going above that it starts to feel increasingly bulky, and below you're becoming more limited with internal space for battery. Perhaps this could adjust down a little in the future with new battery technologies, and you'll be bale to have Pro Max battery life in an Air-thin design.

I charge my iPhone every 48 hours. I'm willing to go thicker with Silicon carbon batteries if it means 3-4 day charging cycles.

As with many things, the challenge for Apple is probably in securing their supply chain to be able to include solid state batteries with 200+ million iPhones a year. Sometimes, the scale at which Apple operates is also their biggest limitation.
Not to mention, jury is still out whether those batteries age well. It’s fine for a Chinese phone that’s worthless in 2 years, it’s a little different of an iPhone that’s got at least a 7 year quality use lifespan.

Yep, I’m definitely loving it and actually find it hard to put down. So comfortable to hold!

PS - 103 now
I thought I was using my 17 PM too much, at 53 cycles now, I’m out here doing rookie numbers

A Pro Max with Silicon-Carbon battery would also get more battery life as it would have a larger Silicon-Carbon battery anyway.

I’m actually surprised Apple didn’t just go Silicon-Carbon with the 1st gen Air’s battery.
I am not surprised that Apple failed to use a Silicon-Carbon battery in the iPhone Air. A decision that hurt the overall performance of an otherwise innovative device.

Over the many years I've been an Apple customer they've repeatedly ignored the latest tech in favor of cutting costs in the interest of profit taking. In turn this compromised device has suffered a distinct lack of sales and popularity.

Apple was fully capable of creating a direct competitor to Samsungs Edge yet chose to compromise with an old tech battery, a single camera and speaker.

The one overriding advantage Apple has is they've conditioned their customers to accept products that in some cases are merely average, with the hope that the next version of said product will be better.

Yep..by far. ;)

Still amazes me when I pick it up. :)

Agreed. Used my wife’s 15 PM for a few minutes over the weekend and felt like I was typing on just screen when I picked my Air up again.

As for the “camera bump”, I didn’t notice it much before launch day and certainly don’t now. It isn’t like you ever touch it or see it while using the phone. I actually think it gives a little personality to the phone, so at times I lay it screen down to admire it.

if you consider a camera hump as personality, then yes.

The most fugliest camera bump in iPhone history you call it luxurious?
As far as camera bumps go, I think the Air's long plateau is more aesthetically pleasing than the non-symmetrical square bump from previous iPhone Pros, and it's slimmer and simpler-looking than the 17 Pro/Max plateau.

But I do wonder what iPhone would result if the Air's plateau was completely removed. Probably a very modest/minimal camera and battery life. I wonder if I would find it good enough.
