A new form factor doesn't seem like enough incentive alone to upgrade.

Anything thinks we may finally be seeing a quad-core processor as well?

I don't understand the problem? The small update when the iPad Mini was released was obviously just to keep their lineup consistent. I've been telling my aunt, who's wanted an iPad for a few months, to wait until next spring, before and after the iPad Mini and updated iPad were announced.

And how are you going to hold the iPad? You mean the iPad Mini trickery?

Same way I hold my 1st Gen iPad. Which isn't like Apple shows in the pics, that way gives you hand cramps and make it easy for the iPad to slip out of your hand.

Palm the corner of the pad in your hand spread finger comfortably across the back and your thumb can rest on the edge of just off the screen unless you want to tap something in range. your thumb does't need to apply any pressure so Bezel not needed.

smaller sizer doesn't seem enough of an upgrade.
I wonder if screen will move up to 326dpi and make standard iOS resolution across the range.

No need to take the Lords name in vain...i can appreciate we all have our own beliefs, but it comes across as offensive

Oh please, christians have it the easiest out of any religious group. Freedom of speech means we can say what we want. How dare you push your values on other people by restricting that freedom and saying some crap like "no need to take the lords name in vain". Jesus, what has the world come to.

How will the pricing model go for an iPad mini with retina?

Current one starts at $329 for 16GB.

Will the iPad Mini with no Retina drop or will the iPad with Mini just increase in price?

Either way...cant wait for March.

Huh , CPU and GPU are 100% faster than the iPad3, i wouldn't call that a small update.

No new iPad until at least a year.

Not happening

That's what people said about the iPad mini.

I think it's great! This keeps Apple one step ahead if the competition.

Expect they don't. Look at the iPad mini compared the Nexus 7. The specs of the mini were out of date the moment it was released compared to the Nexus 7. Half the RAM, inferior CPU, inferior screen, etc. All that for MORE money.

Not being an Apple-hater, but let's face it, Apple hardly stays ahead of the competition anymore. They'll make it 1mm thinner and call it innovation. I say that because I say an iPhone 5 ad that focused on how much smaller it was that you should buy because of that. Sorry Apple it's gonna take more than a slighter smaller size for non-Apple diehards to purchase it. Then again, that's who they made their target audience out to be; people who will buy something because it has a shiny new :apple: on it.

I would love for Apple to release something that was truly amazing and would shut the FanDroids up and Samsung.

If Apple wants to speed up hardware cycles fine. Don't cheat people out and make up some BS excuse as to why certain devices with identical specs don't get updates.

I'd like to see iPads made from liquid metal. Ditto for the Macbooks.

Liquid metal is the new transparent aluminum. Guess we're gonna need a time machine to go into the future for that one.

Perhaps apple, given their economies of scale, could produce liquid metal enclosures in a way that doesn't break the bank. But as it stands Liquid Metal is far too expensive. Besides enclosures are not the important limiting factor (yet) in terms of reducing size and weight. Power requirements and display technology are more obvious targets.

thinner? lighter? are they going to remove the superdrive? come on apple the ipad is a desktop.

I know the idea is still out there a bit, but I think it would be wild to see that. Personally I'd like to see the Macbooks in black liquid metal or at least black brushed aluminium.

Actually, its all about form factor. The ipad2/3 has more than enough grunt to run anything in the app store.

I see this as an annual upgrade over the 3. The 4 was just a performance bump with an updated connector. Ipad 5 will bring some weight reduction and a mini like design. I'm sure they want to get under a pound with this release. We'll see.

Think of it as a surface killer

iPad 4 owner and even if I had endless money I'd still be more excited about iOS 7 vs. future hardware changes. Here's to hoping they tap into some of that lacking potential.

However I would turn giddy at the site of an iPad with an active pen digitizer for some real artistry work.
