Images of cases for the entire iPhone 14 lineup were today shared, reinforcing expectations about the design refinements coming to this year's new iPhone models.

The images, shared on Weibo and highlighted by "DuanRui" on Twitter, depict ultra-slim third-party cases for the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Although one of the devices is labeled iPhone "14 Plus," there is no reliable evidence to suggest that this will be the device's final naming, with the "14 Max" moniker being more likely in parallel to the "iPhone 14 Pro Max."

The cases mirror a broad range of plausible design rumors from reputable sources, including CAD renders and specific dimensions, leaked schematics, images of accessory production molds, early third-party cases, and more as the lineup's designs become increasingly clear.

The images also include a close-up comparison of the cases' precise moldings and cutouts for the rear camera setups, illustrating how much it is expected to grow from the iPhone 13 Pro to the iPhone 14 Pro:

The even larger rear camera array is expected to house a new 48MP camera system with a 57 percent larger sensor and 8K video recording capability. For reference, the leaker known as "ShrimpApplePro" today shared an image of an iPhone 14 Pro dummy, highlighting the potential increase in camera thickness:

The larger camera plateau is naturally more noticeable on the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro than it is on the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, but the cases also show the Pro models' slightly taller design, increased thickness, and more rounded appearance due to corners with larger radii.

Earlier this year, Apple graphic designer Ian Zelbo created ostensibly accurate renders of the iPhone 14 Pro in an effort to provide a look at what to expect from this year's design. See our detailed roundups for more information about the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro.

The names are still ******. Under Steve Jobs:
iBook, iMac
PowerBook, PowerMac

Since then
iPhone Normal, Pro, Pro Max, Plus, SE
Why is it not Pro Plus? Or Max instead of Plus?
M1 Pro, M1 Max, M1 Ultra
Why here Ultra and not Pro Max?
Why not for iPhones:
iPhone XS, XM, XL and
iPhone Pro XS, XM, XL
Or anything else, that is remotely more consistent in its naming.

Incredible what tiny things people get obsessed about. Show me what it can do and not that its 1mm wider.
100%. If it wasn't 1mm thicker and had lower camera capabilities, you can bet these same people would be complaining about it wasn't thicker, and that Apple just can't innovate anymore.

Some people just can't ever be pleased.

I don't understand that you even care about this. :p

I always think the way the side-by-side comparison photos are set up is odd.

This one is a good example. I can’t understand why you wouldn’t have them in the same orientation, or overlayed, or some arrangement where there’s a ‘baseline’, so to speak… 🤨

G4 Cube, iPhone 3GS, Ping

There were all sorts of weird and wonderful names under Jobs

More worried about the price bump than the camera bump, frankly. That they offer a "base" model Max is a pretty clear indication we are going to see a price hike, but Apple is "compromising" for those who want the largest screen but don't care about the higher spec chip or cameras.

Tim Cook says "Everyone seems to be into camera features, so let's just do what everyone else does. Samsung's next phone is going to have an even bigger camera, we have to beat it!"

Steve Jobs would say 'People are using cameras wrong. Let's invent a new way to capture moments.'

Apple is no different than any other tech company now. They are just going to follow the trends (not create the trends), and more importantly, they are going to follow their competition (instead of leading the competition).

Everything they have released for probably the past decade has been a lagging follow-up to innovations that came from other companies first.

Even if their approach was to wait and perfect what's already in the market, that would be ok if they actually perfected things, but for too long now, most of what they come out with is far behind. The ONLY thing they offer is superior build quality and a well organized ecosystem. Name a single apple product on the market right now which stands at the top in terms of benchmarking performance, specs, etc. There is not a single product that does.

Here is a silly example. I can buy the latest Mac Mini with all the upgrades. $1500+. And, I still can't plug it in to an external monitor and get higher than 60hz at 4k. I can buy a $400 mini pc on amazon from a no-name brand with superior specs in almost every category, plus get 4k@120 with no issues, and this was true 2+ years ago.

So what exactly am I getting with Apple? Their software? Really? Every time I try to switch to Apple, it involves making a compromise in some way. Even with their OS, there are things it just simply cannot do without extensive customizations. That's not an innovative company. That's a company with internal rot that is sustained by a loyal fan base, slick marketing, and a huge war chest of cash.

The fact is, they don't NEED to be innovative or risk takers anymore. And so they don't. And you can see that fact in every new product release.
