Indian brand Pebble plans to release a new smartwatch that looks like a blatant Apple Watch Ultra ripoff. The watch has virtually the exact same design as the Apple Watch Ultra and even looks like it will be available with a knockoff Ocean Band.

This is innevitable. As Apple moves more product manufacturing into India, we'll start to see more Apple knock-offs out of that country.

And as Apple moves more manufacturing to Vietnam, we'll start to see Apple knock-offs from them at some point too.

To believe that they will respect Apple's IP more than China is foolish.

Indian police will just bust in their doors and beat them for it, as they are easily bought.

China cares infinitely less.

Yep, ever walk into a Harbor Freight tool store? DeWalt, Milwaukee, Craftsman knockoffs going out the backdoor of the Chinese factory while the name brands go out the front door. Friend of mine always buys the cheap stuff and says he juts tosses it when it breaks and buys a new one, still cheaper than buying the name brand.

Nice to see these renderings with complications overlapping the outer border of the screen. It is just like the watchbands, that you can order in China, using images from Apple, but in reality looking quite crappy.

So: anyone ordered this Ultra watch? What does it look like in the real world? Pics please. Just curious...

Here is a good video about one

Before all the Apple fanfolk completely hyperventilate at this 'blatant ripoff', let's take a moment to consider that the company is clearly not aiming at the 'more money than brains' crowd that the Apple Watch aims for. And probably at the market where $48 is a big deal.
Let's take another moment to consider that Apple is far clear of their own blatant ripoffs (sorry....'reverse engineering') going as far back as the mouse and windows GUI as created by IBM Xerox PARC, or, say, more recently, arguably the original Touch / iPhone vs the Palm TX.

I have Indian residency from my mother side but not a passport. Counterfeit and piracy is part of the culture and the thing that always makes me facepalm is that the poor people are not buying these things. It's always the rich castes doing it. They like to show off they are rich without actually spending. Parents even buy exam results for their kids. I visit relatives and not even one record or one DVD or original Playstation game was in any home. Everything pirated or counterfeit.

I find it very funny that it's not just a blatant rip off, but they're using actual Apple Watch promotional images on the site. The image with the four Ultra watches even shows the Apple Watch Ultra name on the back of one of the watches.
It's not funny at all, they're ripping off poor and gullible consumers 😏 ONCE THE HOLIDAYS ARE OVER, Apple will Nip their marketing in the bud

Priced at the equivalent of just $48, the Pebble Cosmos Engage is obviously made with lower-quality materials than the Apple Watch Ultra. For example, the watch is advertised as having an LCD display with up to 600 nits of brightness, while the Apple Watch Ultra has an OLED display with up to 2,000 nits of brightness. Unsurprisingly, the watch also doesn't run watchOS, but it does appear to offer knockoff Apple Watch faces and features like heart rate monitoring, voice assistance, and Bluetooth calling.

Pebble already sells a copycat version of the standard Apple Watch and other generic smartwatches. The brand does not appear to have any relation with the former smartwatch company Pebble, which was acquired by Fitbit in 2016.

The actual Apple Watch Ultra was released in September and is priced at $799.

I feel sorry for the poor gullible consumers who will buy this. My first smart watch was a £45 cheap Chineese knock off, it actually was the main reason I bought my first Apple Watch 🤣

I rather have this than an apple watch (use to have a lot of fun turning off everyone's tv and in school driving the teacher crazy everytime we use to watch a movie) , but Casio doesn't make this at all
