If you decided to play game on your rMBP in the future I think 16GB is the best because I have 2012 rMBO with 8GB, 256GB SSD I am not sure why one of games crashed to desktop screen I assumed 8GB is not enough (I could be wrong).

My parents ended up getting me the rMBP 13" 256GB (I think) 8GB RAM model.. late 2013.
It's pretty nifty. I strangely still miss my previous MBP for reasons beyond me...
Anyway, the retina is really nice. It's a huge difference!
