1. DLP is in fact the leading technology in projectors because LCD does not produce the same true colors, they are washed out all things being equal. If you read around many publications and authorities in the field have agreed to the consensus that DLP is King. Go to Fry electronics and every projector is DLP. Ok now that I shut down your argument there, onto..
2. 2 years ago you could not get the projector I just mentioned nor the only other competitor (optoma hd20) for under 1000. There were no 1080p projectors under 1000$ as there are even now only 2 1080p projectors under $1000, mine being one of them, and even though I got mine for 700$ now, two years ago it was $1000 when it first came out. And I said 700 so no this was not possible 2 years ago. 1800$ is not 700$. Checkmate.
3rd of all, I have a two KRKs in the video, do you see me mixing on them? Am I mastering in the video?
No.
Why would you bring up room treatment after watching a video about enjoying music? I have a separate room that is treated and has a recording booth and keyboards setup. That's where I produce. Just because I have KRKs doesn't mean I'm not allowed to listen to music in a regular non treated room? You connected two things that have no connection just to support some misplaced criticism. Logic fail!
1) No shut down. You said DLP was the newest technology, I disagreed, as it is not and has been around for at least 12 years, more main stream within the last 8-10. Good LED projectors are every bit as good as the DLPs (and DLPs have issues with the color wheels, so your own research and you will see). For the price DLPS are better than their equally priced LCD counterparts, but making general statements about them being washed out isn't always true (you get what you pay for and broadcasting onto a basic wall isn't going to yield the best picture if that is what you want, so colors being washed is mot at that point). Just because Fry's (a discount low end Electronics dealer) only carries DLP says nothing. They carry what sells to the crowd they cater to (nothing wrong with that philosophy either). I wouldn't expect them to carry Runcos and Barcos, since the crowd that shops there wouldn't buy them. Fry's fit their business plan to their customers (which is how good business is done).
2) No checkmate, not even close to a stalemate (you still playing even?). A quick cursory search on Google revealed reports of the top projectors and there were 5 sub $1000 highly rated 1080p projectors (all had rainbow effects from the color wheel, some less noticeable than others) and that was 2 years ago (where you claim only 2 existed). I chose the $1800 price point as that is where the Optoma was 5 years ago, although several were getting them in the $1300-1400 price range (MSRP is only good for comparison, actual street price is king). And for te record, you never even mentioned which projector you got, as you stated you did in response to my posts.
Logic fail is on your part. You have some really disconnected thoughts. If you understand reading and sentences, then you would understand what I wrote. I said $700 and then related that to a 24" monitor, because you said that for the price of a 24" monitor you had the projector (logic from your statement would be 24" monitor = $700, logic fail on your part).
3) I brought up the room treatments and such as part of the discussion focused on the speakers and enjoying the music. It is really hard to enjoy music on studio monitors in an untreated room as they are designed for studio use. It was implied by you in your posts that it is about the clean sound, without the treatments that is really hard to pull off. I just hate when people throw around misinformation as fact, based on their limited experience. I try to make my statements broad enough to insure that they are not incorrect due my limited experiences and biases. I realize a larger world exists than my little meager experiences.
