This is ridiculous - Why is it so complicated to transfer a file

None of which work with two people who wish to exchange pictures but do not wish to share their personal details, such as e-mail address (parents at a soccer game would be one example).

Is this a use case that comes up much? I've never been in a situation where I wanted to share a photo with a person, that's standing right next to me, but I want to remain completely anonymous.

Even your example: so you're sharing pictures of your kids playing soccer, but you don't want to be identified to the other parents?

If this came up for me ever, I'd be the first to complain, just hasn't ...

Assuming you have the same phone. Great for all three people who ever do this.
The OP needs to do a Google search. There are many ways to do this and many apps that can be used. It's not difficult or complicated.

Your absolutely right. It is hard to do so. Samsung lets you touch phones to transfer. Apple is much much more difficult then it has to be.
