This is false. You also have failed to provide any proof that Apple was still working on implementing Touch ID just one month ago. That’s just not how R&D works. Sorry, but this is just getting silly.

My ideal iPhone would basically be the X, with some form of a home button and TouchID, and a headphone jack.

I'd have to say that I'm increasingly turned off by the idea of having a glass back on the 8 or the X. I suppose even the standard leather or silicone apple case would make this a non issue. But still, I wonder how many years a new iPhone 7 could be expected to be a solid daily phone. Maybe 3?
