The app Eddy was describing included Siri voice integration. The update doesn't have anything like that in it.

Might be in the next update. That's how Apple usually works. A bit surprised though that the Remote app took so long before being updated for the aTV4.

So 9.1 makes it work and the update adds what exactly? The description says 'makes it work with atv4' which of course it did before with 9.1.
Minor bug fixes.
Bring attention to anyone who doesn't follow MacRumors that it works now.

No Siri integration for the remote app? Kind of useless if I have to keep the other remote by me to use Siri also. Defeats the purpose of using the phone as a remote, if you need the actual remote for Siri.

In the YouTube app using the Remote app you can't press + hold at 2 o'clock and skip the commercials like you can with the physical remote. There is no "click" function on the right of the Remote app trackpad.

Tap and drag to the right.

Apple has discontinued the Remote App as the ecosystem that I envisioned ... checks notes... 5 years ago, has come to pass.

It may sound obvious now but back then, every device could play music and no other device was aware of it. Today, your Watch knows what your iPhone is playing which knows what your AppleTV is playing which knows what your HomePod is playing. And playback can be controlled from any one of those devices. Need direct control of your Apple TV? The Remote is built into Control Centre.

Unfortunately the built-in remote widget lacks the important (in my opinion) feature of detail view of playback, that also included shortcuts to change audio or subtitle tracks.
