Apple users like shinny and fresh tech. iOS isn't that shiny anymore. We have had significant hardware overhauls since iOS came out and iOS is pretty much the same.

No. Apple users like power wrapped up in a usable interface which is why they continue to buy Apple products.

Well said. I don't need any shiny object in show off to everyone. I just love the easy to use interface and how well it works.

iOS still the same OS and Apple has little reason to make the Springboard approach much different. It's once you get into an app that the differences will start to manifest.

Like in iOS 5...it took a while. Some of my apps immediately jumped on the new Twitter framework and it was easy to link my Twitter account to the app. After a while I started getting pissed off when apps weren't updated and had to do the older auth method where I had to login.

That's software advancement. My expectations changed about how the process should be handled because Apple delivered tools to create a better in-app feature.

This is where some people do not understand Apple. They expect for Apple to try to feature iOS outside of the app. Apple's not interested in that. They focus on letting developers delight users with great looking and functioning apps.

It seems that a lot of people want iOS to be like android OS. I rather those people just buy an Android.

There is one thing I would like iOS to have, and that's setting toggles like SBsettings.

Other than that I don't need some shiny widget or some feature on my home screen like Android has.

... is this a joke? Are you new to iOS? It sounds like Android would serve you better.

no, it isn't a joke there are so many great customizations available in cydia which Apple should adopt. Android is becoming more and more attractive but i don't like the hardware.

For someone that likes both Android & iOS , I choose Apples hardware over Samsung, HTC, Motorola and so on. I think Apple needs to do something big with its next iPhone. Not with just the design if the phone but a change with the UI. I think widgets would be a plus, same with toggles in the notification bar. Nothing wrong with that.

I don't see the point of toggles. It's micro-managing your device and sets up a precedent that tells people that they should be managing their broad and baseband devices manually.

Looking at ARM's roadmap shows that future SoC are going to de a fantastic job of power management meaning that toggles really become unnecessary.

Widgets...perhaps in the NC.

At this point i'm looking forward to the polish that I expect to see in iOS apps take it up another level.

Seriously, except for the Maps, turn by turn, and few other things, nearly all of the features could have been painlessly added in an 5.2 update.

Any thoughts or opinions about this?

No. Just wait for it to come out. You could say the same about Lion because they just added RAM-saving at shutdown and a few GUI things, right?

Something like SBSettings would be great.

I understand why you believe this, but come on. When your OS is number 1 and the majority of users love it, why change a lot? Apple hasn't even announced the next gen iPhone and everybody is doubting iOS 6. We know there will be exclusive iOS 6 features exclusively for the next iPhone. Let's wait and see what they are before fully judging this update.
