Seriously every front page story these days is full of negative comments. The negative overwhelmingly outweighs the positive. Every product sucks, every experience is horrible. Tim Cook needs to go. Everyone else on the executive team needs to go. And every story has someone complaining about lack of Mac updates. This is no longer an Apple rumor site it's an Apple hate site. :(

This site has been around a long time, and the majority of the regulars have also been around here a long time. For someone who loves what Apple was 5, 10, 15 years ago and longer, what is going on now with Apple is the desecration of the corpse of what we loved. Timmy's profit-making machine is thriving for now, but Apple Computer, the company who's amazing products disrupted market after market is long since dead.

Yes, we understand Apple the innovative company is dead, but when the carcass is being hauled around by the comic relief like Weekend at Bernies, we're going to voice how we feel about it.

Your clue should be that this site is called "MacRumors", the fact that you're calling it an Apple rumor site shows how much you are missing the point. Mac's are an unwanted stepchild of Timmy's money making machine.

If you want to enjoy your iToys, that's great, I'm happy you found products you like. But understand people were happily discussing Macs here when the iPhone was a twinkle in Steve Jobs' eye.

None of that really relates to more and more random digs at Apple in pretty much most discussions that often have nothing to do with Macs or anything like that. There's all of what you said, and then there's just taking potshots pretty much anywhere and everywhere because of that.

What if all the haters in this forums are shills that are getting paid to promote anti Apple propaganda for the reason to get people to move back to the Windows PC environment. That would explain why all the haters have such few posts. They're new accounts being made for this purpose.

I can't speak for the mods, but my thought is if enough forum members consistently report "can't innovate my ass" posts, for example, it will come to be viewed the same as "Safari snappy" posts and result in a quick removal after being reported.

The other issue is what C DM alluded to. There are just a handful of volunteer moderators, so they don't even see a large volume of the posts here, so you need to report these issues or a mod will likely never know.

I did and I do, and they are very very rarely removed. I keep adding and adding to my ignore lists, and when I click the option "see ignored posts" the first page of basically every thread is filled with the same nonsense.

The mods seem to have time to surgically remove every post that is critical to this forum, but seem to have a soft spot for exactly the stuff that is destroying this forum. I have been here for years and have really seen the mood here change, caused by an ever growing group of people that just like to be first on every thread with nonsense posts.

Do something about it. Read this thread, there are quite a few people here that have been here for years that are voicing legitimate concerns. It should not only be up to us to report, but also up to you guys to be pro-active about it.

Actually I have decided that I will leave. Another one of my reports was bounced again yesterday. It is telling that the moderator group is sticking more to the old rules, rather than looking to improve the rules to reflect the changes in mood here.

I will keep my account active if I would want to return at some point, but I think I will focus on going elsewhere where the majority of the community is still supportive. I´m sorry about this, because I had a lot of fun here and I will miss a lot of the good people here.

I wish you all the best.

Goodbye.

Just like various iOS update threads getting filled with all kinds of "courage", "headphone jack", or "watchbands" type of posts that are essentially just meme-like digs that aren't even related to iOS or anything that the articles/threads are about.

Yep, stuff like that is exactly what I'm talking about.

Never thought about it that way, but you're on to something. Apple definitely isn't a niche company anymore- though the essence is the same, it's largely a mass-market company now that tries to appeal to a large percentage of the population as opposed to a smaller, more specific market. Something's gotta give, and unfortunately for Apple's traditionally hardcore following... it's them.

And with another thread about a new iOS beta update it seems like we are back to a number of similar posts being sprinkled throughout the discussions that are basically about Macs and digs at Apple in relation to Macs which have nothing to do at all with the iOS, let alone the particular details of the iOS beta that is being discussed. Unfortunately it seems that reports of those for the most part don't seem to result in any moderation (and unfortunately without any feedback provided about that action). Perhaps if more people report that might change more of those, but it's hard to say.

Yep- just a cesspool of trolls. Doesn't matter how legitimate your concerns are when you try to derail any attempt at a moderately sensible conversation. I didn't realize that part of being a "pro" user was spamming forums. (My apologies to true pro users that have nothing to do with these impostors)
