I haven't noticed a lag texting on my 2.0 1G iPhone. The only place I see a lag is when I open up my Contacts. It takes at least 5 sec before I can do anything.

i text all the time and have had it lag a few times. i just keep typing even though it lags. it never seems to skip a letter/number.

Hopefully in the next software update a lot of these issues about lag will be solved.

Mine also has lag when texting. Also noticed the slow opening with contacts. I have also had some small crashes and a freeze up but I am sure that it will all be fixed:) I would bet that we all see 2.0.1 by the end of this week.;) Just my opinion.

If I slide to unlock my phone and immediately press anything whether it is the phone, mail, safari, ipod, etc. sometimes it lags and often doesn't respond. I have to lock it again and then unlock it. I agree 2.0.1 before many people see their DF orders. ;) (that should piss a few people off)

Apple saves at least some hassle and maybe money from lowering the number of returns by releasing better firmware so im sure they are on it. Also, it's pretty clear Apple rushed out the current firmware. The evidence is the 35 beta firmware that ended up shipping with the phone. This wasn't an accident but everyone knew "hey, release day is tomorrow, ship what we go" and that was the beta firmware. 37 was just a minor improvement. Hopefully the problems that have been identified are fixable and we won't have to wait for a Leopard version of iPhone's OS to fix this stuff properly (meaning non hack fixes that break other stuff).
