Hello!
I have two iPhone 17 base models (one is for my husband), and both of them have a Samsung G9Q panel. However, one of them is on the warmer side, and doesn’t have any green/blue tint when tilted. The other one is cooler and shows green/blue tint when tilted. So, two G9Q panels, but so different.

Should I return the one with the cooler display in order to try to get a new one that will match the one that I like better? What are the chances?

I dunno the odds but I'd probably not return the one you don't prefer until you know the replacement is to your liking.

Decent chance you'll end up worse off in some capacity.

Since I already have one that is perfect in my eyes, I think I’ll just “gamble” with the other one and try ordering a new one, since I’m still in that 14-day return period. Wish me luck 😁

Is this worth a replacement? After various returns I finally got a display that I like, but this one have a small gap between screen and frame.

Good luck!! Fingers crossed for you.🤞🏼
Didn't cross them hard enough I suppose. I thought maybe going with the 256GB version might break the spell, but nope. Time to find me a 16PM again, I'm done. You'd think a company valued at more $ than some countries could afford to shill out on some better panels, but apparently not.

Good luck everyone, see you in 10 Months for the next one!

so my g9n is perfect visually, unfortunately after a week my screen is now very rough and tactile feel is hard , it's really not smooth at all. surprisngly even my 4 years old iphone 13 pro wasn't as sticky/rough, in spite of its oleophobic coating being much much older

I don't get it . i've cleaned it carefully but it's still not smooth, my fingers "stick" on it

Have you cleaned it with alcohol wipes or just water / microfiber cloth?

Certain isopropyl % cloths / ones included with cheap screen protectors that may have other chemicals can erode the oleophobic coating

No. Every phone has little gaps like this. The person that responded is completely wrong too. Seriously just do a search on here about gaps its posted EVERY year since ive been on this forum. 15+ years.

What the number of gaps over the years has to do with the potential medium-term issues I mentioned.

And no, not every iPhone has that kind of gap.

What a pain. Really is an Apple issue from my own experience over the last 3+ years. New Oppo Find X9 Pro received a couple days ago. Flawless screen. No off axis tint, no pink or yellow or green hues, and perfectly uniform. I *think* it is a BOE panel but haven't been able to verify.

I have GVC LG screen on my 17 Pro Max. It absolutely doesn’t turn green even in the slightest at any angles whether I tilt the top part of the screen towards myself or away. Should I be worried?

Chances are low! But if you aren’t happy with your display I would definitely give it a try.

So I ended up swapping my 17P that had the BOE panel. The thing I noticed was the True Tone was very aggressive and would over correct itself. Sometimes getting stuck on a very warm color which was distracting. Ended up getting a G9Q, the same as my Air which looks quite nice.

Got a G9N on my first 17 PM. Thought I’d won the lottery as initial impressions were good and my old 13 PM also had a G9N. After some use the pink tint and blotches (especially edges and bottom) is driving me nuts. So I went for a second try and got a GH3 this time. Screen looks really good. No pink blotches, and very crisp and uniform. No real green tint either. The catch? It came with a dent in the frame 😂

I just got back from shopping at a department store and stopped by the phone section. They only had one unit of each model. The iPhone 17 Pro had blue/green shift, just like the others with LG panels. To my surprise, it was a G9Q. Is Samsung trying to imitate LG or what, lol.

Wow. Apple making good panels rare these days.
