Mine is slightly cyan but better than previous iterations. Not perfect but good enough for me.But it is really far away from greenish. If I had to describe it, it would be slightly yellowish. The main thing: it is far from reddish. ;-)
No. I do think that samaung are better screen. Many people like the lg more “natural” looking screens and other Samsung more vivid looking. Basically I do not care what my screen is. As I said I started to believe that the G9N panel is the best out there and by having this uniformity on three devices made me consider how the “bad” screens are!! I just a have to set my mind from now on that perfect phone that costs 1500€ from a company with attention to detail is no longer exist as it was a couple of years ago anymore. You don't have a ****** (LG) display! At least not based on your description. You probably have a very good (LG) display. But you're obviously chasing a phantom, or you think Samsung displays are better in general?
Hey guys! I finally chose the G9P which was yellowish-not reddish. After using it for 2-3 days, my eyes were so tired.Today arrived my two new iPhone 17.
1) GVC - green tint while tilted as usual. I prefer its white color but I think it has lower brightness and resolution.
2) G9P - more uniform but red tint (always, not only while tilted). A bit better resolution.
I’m so exhausted. Perfect screens doesn’t exists anymore, not even paying thousands of euros. I’m going to choose one of these (not sure which one) and try to get used.
For me, the left iPhone in the photo looks warmer/yellower, the right looks slightly reddish, but a bit brighter. (The right one is a normal pro?) Do you have a screen protector on your phone?Hey guys! I finally chose the G9P which was yellowish-not reddish. After using it for 2-3 days, my eyes were so tired.
Yesterday, I was shopping at a big store and I went to the electronics section (I promise it wasn’t on purpose, I had to go there), so I compared my iPhone with 3 iPhones they had there. This is the result, same with the 3 of them. Look at the brightness. In real life was waaay worst.
Do you think this is acceptable? Do you think they show in shops not realistic iPhones?
Note: both are in max brightness. No TT, no NS.

You're doing the right thing. I also keep my absolutely not perfect device, although I could still return it until 15.1.26. But after a few weeks of use, you don't notice these things anymore. And 2026 or 2027 we will start the next round anyway. 😂Thank you all for your opinions to my concerns. I will keep the device after all that discussion here. Just disable True Tone and I'll get used to it. On my MacBook I already turned off the moment I got it. I saw a redish tone to the display that ruined all the calibration of the display. @Faerlina and @AlexStrife thanks for you help! After all they are just devices that a tech nerd like me will keep to for one year or two..
I didn't trade it at all. I could not trade it, my only option was to sell it and buy another phone and then start to refund again ad again.Ok, you didn't trade as often as I did. And you don't have an Apple Store nearby, right? I do. And indeed I'm starting to doubt that these supposedly „perfect displays“ even exist (which were partly posted here). Photos distort reality, I've said that several times. And I have never seen such a display (as posted above) live!
I am now really fine with my LG, because: I like to look at the display, it looks nice and uniform white. I don't see any color differences when looking directly at it. That's what matters (to me). (And I could still trade if I wanted to.)
Ok honestly, in your case I would make a guarantee thing out of it. Try to exchange it! You can't lose anything. At the moment you have the impression all the time that you have something very bad at home.I didn't trade it at all. But at this point I don’t really feel like doing it anymore; worst case, I’ll sell it in August and then I’ll get the 18, so at least I’ll be able to return it (and in that case I’ll make sure not to go over the 14-day period). Also, the more I read the various posts here on the topic, the more I realize that many screens on the market have different kinds of defects, so I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s not worth driving myself crazy over it.
I don’t rule out that, in the end, I might just stop thinking about it altogether and keep using mine for years.
The picture on the right has less white on the screen, and the less white on the screen the less abl and the brighter it will be. So try sent identical screens on both phones to make a truer comparison.Hey guys! I finally chose the G9P which was yellowish-not reddish. After using it for 2-3 days, my eyes were so tired.

Auto brightness is off on the store models.Hey guys! I finally chose the G9P which was yellowish-not reddish. After using it for 2-3 days, my eyes were so tired.

Tinting is not considered a defect by display manufacturers or by Apple itself. If it were, you wouldn’t have been forced to buy and return the phone 8 times. You did it precisely because that’s the only way you have to get it replaced.Ok honestly, in your case I would make a guarantee thing out of it. Try to exchange it! You can't lose anything. Try it!
You're right, I'll take everything back... I was at the Christmas market (in another city) today and there also at the Apple Store. There was exactly one (1!!) 17 Pro model, which had a really top display, the other flared models had either reddish displays or an extreme color shift to the green when tilting. 1 Pro Max looked similar to my GH3. The displays of the iPhones Air looked the worst. Even my 15 years old niece noticed that.😬Tinting is not considered a defect by display manufacturers or by Apple itself. If Apple replaces my phone/display under warranty just for tinting, at best I might manage to get one replacement. Getting two replacements is already difficult. And I’m not sure it’s worth it, because with only one replacement the probability of getting a display better than mine is low. If even you aren’t satisfied after 8 replacements… Apple wouldn’t replace the display 8 times through their warranty.
As you could see, this is the situation: it’s full of panels like your GH3 (or worse), especially on the Pro Max models. There might be a few good panels, but how many? It seems like about one out of 30. Either you’re lucky or you keep playing the lottery until you’re exhausted. You're right, I'll take everything back... That's the way I thought too. Yesterday I was out to buy presents and stuff. I went o 4 stores with Apple devices here in Greece. I did not see an iPhone 17 pro max with an excellent uniformity. others had relish display on the low right part of the display. others on top. Other with yellow tint on the left of the display. I found a photo on the internet with greys and whites stripes and tested them all and I saw that my iPhone actually had one of the best uniformity of them all. LOL... All of them including mine have some uniformity "issue". the only thing that a seller told me is that on the iPhones that are on display for selling purposes they have a custom app from apple that make the that phones more bright and more pleasing to the eye. To demonstrate this, he took an iPhone out of the box that was ment to be placed on the display of the store and we saw that the brightness before the installation of the app was the same and after the installation the difference was HUGE! To be honest.. this is the "first" generation of iPhone changing technologies and stuff. iPhone 18 will be better in every way. So keeps the phone for a year, a year and a half maybe and then get the new one.As you could see, this is the situation: it’s full of panels like your GH3 (or worse), especially on the Pro Max models. I can’t return mine; I can only go through Apple’s warranty. But Apple could replace me one unit, maybe two if I’m lucky—certainly not 10. To replace 10, I’d have to sell mine and buy another 17 pro max to take advantage of the ‘14 days window period of time’ for return it.
And then, play the lottery all over. But if i sell mine now, I’d lose at least 200 euros.
It makes more sense at this point to keep my phone and resell it in a year to get the 18 Pro Max, instead of selling it now to get another 17 Pro Max. Mine, anyway, is decent—average to good.
Same problem excaclty with my new iPhone 17 pro max with G9N panel. But in comparison with other iPhone 17 pro max in my region, mine is more uniform after all..Shift looks good on this one but the uniformity is off, right side is more yellow than left which i see a lot with samsung screens. At least on the lg the whole screen shifts blue/green but looking head on its solid. I’m most Samsungs one side of the screens always brighter just compare the two sides next to the browser bar, left is cool tint, right is warm tint

After yesterday's visit to another Apple Store, I finally completed the AppleCare+ on my current iPhone 17 PM; means: I will definitely keep it. Almost all the displays in the store (was the 2nd Apple Store I visited) were worse than mine. Crazy. (If the devices had all looked totally good in the store yesterday, I might have thought about an exchange again. But that would be completely pointless.)Same problem excaclty with my new iPhone 17 pro max with G9N panel. But in comparison with other iPhone 17 pro max in my region, mine is more uniform after all..
I think you are a YouTuber right???? Review tech and stuff???So today it happened. After quite a few exchanges I got a G9N panel. I’m currently using a Cosmic Orange unit with a G9P. My 16 Pro also had a G9P. (The left image is the Silver G9N Max, right is Cosmic orange G9P Max). Hard to appreciate the difference but take my word for it.
My G9N is…💩. Kinda shocked. It has a similar green tint when compared to the LG units I’ve been getting again and again (GVC or GH3). It off axis color shifts to worsening green. I was pretty positive I got another LG display with how this one looked, except there is no visible grain to it. Once I check raw-panel I was shocked to find it said G9N. Floored, really. And sad. All this talk of the G9N unicorn and it is significantly worse than my G9P. I will be keeping the G9P and shut my mind up about this from here on out. Lesson… don’t chase a manufacturer. Seriously, don’t. If you like how it looks is all that matters!!!
It must be pointed out that NONE of these panels look as good as my 16 Pro Display from last year or the 15 Pro before that or the 14 Pro. These panels are all trending more and more greenish yellow for the white point.
And if we want to point out the Pros getting all the better displays LOL. The one and only one I got was a BOE panel (J5V), so horrifically grainy, color shifting from pink to green when just hardly moving it. Move your hand even a little bit and it shifts.
APPLE!!!! What are you doing!? These displays are not good! Love, your display obsessed nerd!
I noticed True Tone changing my displays back and forth between my Air and 17P. One was warm.. the other wasn't. and vice versa after a few secs. It was like color tint ping pong. Both phones running 26.1. Eventually they both ended up looking the same.
Yes, post photos. (Even if they usually don't reflect reality.)May I ask for you help on the uniformity of the display??
Today as I was chilling I took my phone and read every comment here.
Yes E V E R Y comment. It was fun I must say.
Then I decided to take a test again of my phone and my wife’s.
I have as I said and iPhone 17 pro Max silver 256 with G9N panel and my wife’s is an iPhone 17 pro orange with G9N panel.
What I found and there is where I need you help. My display in all test shows a very good uniformity. Slightly pinkish on the lower left part of the display but only visible on white background with 15-20% brightness. My wife’s on the other hand the 1/5 of the display - at the lower part - is pinkish but at very low brightness 15-20% the shapes on the screen for example from safari bar is hard to see the outlines. When I asked her if she get bothered from this see told me that see never put that low brightness and for her is not a problem or an issue ( I guess see is a normal person 😂😂 ).
But on both phones on Viber, Facebook messenger but not on WhatsApp - apps that uses the old keyboard design, the keyboard on the 17 PM looks like it is on the right is 20% grey and on the left is 15% grey. And that only on 40-50% brightness. On dark mode, there is no difference at all. With or without TT at all brightness levels.
On my wife’s on the other hand the lower part of the keyboard is on the left more green and on the right more pink. But again at the same circumstances as the PM.
I decided to take a print screen and make a test background with the color of the keyboard to test the screens. You can have it to test your screen too.
This is more like real world test.
There was no difference between left and right on the 17 PM neither on the 17 P.
On EVERY other app or site or photo or settings or whatever, the screens are both look pretty good. On a previous reply I said that there was some uniform issues but I did not see them now on the 17 PM. Only on my wife’s. But again with the test above this is not noticeable at every day use.
I think at that point that something is going on with me and the fact that I am looking for the problem and my brain creates the problem.
Or there is a software glitch that makes the screen to feel off in some apps.
I will post photos of the phones just for the community here to discuss. Thanks.
Yes you are right. Every person wants and demands different things. My wife is not a tech person. See uses her phone for social and messages and stuff. She is more on the side that if the phone dies only then it has a problem. If the screen is a little off, that's the way it is. She do not want to waste time o things that in a year she will replace them. On the other hand I am the complete opposite. Just how you are and how many others are on this forum. as I said on previous post. I checked many stores the other day and I compared my iPhone with the ones that was on display. It turned out that my iPhone was one of the best. others where with uneven uniformity, tint colors of-axis or too warm tones even with tt offYes, post photos. (Even if they usually don't reflect reality.)
But, quite apart from that, I think your wife is right: you will never set such a low brightness, right? It would be important to me(!), that the screen with normal use(!) looks good and uniform.
I have the problem with my GH3 that it turns greenish when tilted. But that only after extreme tilting. In the store, however, I saw devices that were already at approx. 20 percent tilting make the screen appear completely green. THAT would be a no-go. If possible, go and visit a store which provides iPhone 17 models.
Mmmh, no pinkish on the bottom for me on the photos. I think, it looks very good. This is the 17 PM. At the moment I have not access to the other phone. As you can see there is an error on the photos. there is a pinkish hue at the bottom of the display as well as a little halo on the screen. Both of them are not visible on by naked eye on any brightness level. on any angle. is just from the lens of the camera and the position of the phone at the time of shooting. I say that I am pleased with the uniformity but the keyboard think I do not know whats I s going on.I couldn't capture it on camera..
