Thank heaven we still have unlimited.

I stream while on 3G every day and I reach about 3-4gb per month. That's with streaming about 4 hours 5 days a week. Was he streaming for like 20 hours that day??

More like 10, plus about two the night before. I need to check the options on that app--they've got different levels for quality and I suspect he left them at the default--which would give him the best quality feed but use the most bandwidth. Gotta admit I completely lost it laughing when I checked his usage data last night--I've been tracking it on both of ours as we've talked about dropping to the lower data plans. We've had this phone for less than a week, and he's used more data than he did in three years on his original iPhone. So much for any idea we had of dropping down to the 200 MB plan for him!

Edit--does still seem high though. We'll have to check what AT&T says he used against what the phone says. The app website says 60 MB an hour isn't uncommon--but that's not going to get you to what he racked up. Could be an issue with how the phone is tracking data.

Jailbroken iphone + MiWi turns your iPhone into a portable router

just a thought if you happen to be paying extra for that router

a JB phone with miwi still uses your iphone's data plan. a mifi device turns 3g data back to wifi in which your iphone can use. not the same thing there.
