I considered the 64gig when I got mine but instead purchased a 32 gig iPad. I was worried about storage when I bought the device but my worry was pretty offbase apparently. I'm only using 9.6 gigs. 1.7 gigs of music, 1 gig of photos and the rest in apps. In reality I've never listened to any of the music on my iPad so I could delete that content -- I always have my touch with me for music.

I'm not that big on movies or tv so most of my mobile consumption (3g model) is for reading things via flipbook or browsing the web.

You sound like me, except I stream a ton from HBO Go (but that doesn't use space)

I CURRENTLY AM USING .....CAPS..... mmmmm, I have 14.3 GB free on my iPad2, which is actually amazing. I have had to delete all my music and films to make room in the past.

I have apps & games, which is a growing thing, of course. Podcasts are my downfall though.... I have some audio podcasts, but many are now video and I sync the new ones to view when I get chance.

I have only just realised the amount of GB's I was downloading in video podcasts, when I hit my data cap. Now I have to double check towards the end of the month, just to make sure.

So I would say that I use 95% of that 64GB at all times.

I have an iPad 2 with the new iOs 5, it takes up more space the 4. I have 64 GB and have 22.1GB available. Lots of movies and 5.3 in apps. I removed some of my original apps this week. I want more space just to add more musics.

Typically have less than a 1gb free on my 64gb. About 40-45gb is HD mkv's, the rest is apps and podcasts.

I know this is about iPad and not iPhone. But i've only used up 5.60GB from my 32GB iPhone 4S. That's with all the music, videos, photos and books that i own and only with my favorite apps (I try to put apps that i use often).

My iPad is 16GB and i've only used 4.78GB. My iPod touch is 8GB i've used 4.51GB which leaves me with little space left (6.35GB total).

I say go for the biggest if you can afford it. Its always better to have too much space than not enough.

I've had my iPad 2 since March 25, the day it was released it Canada.

15.6 GB available.

21 GB is used by videos, which is 2 movies, 1 season of two TV shows and a lot of video podcasts.

9 GB is used by music - don't listen much on the iPad but it is there.

I have 186 apps - which is a few games and many educational titles.

I don't regret getting the 64 GB one bit. I still have plenty of room to load more apps and videos.

While the Cloud is going to reduce the pressure on memory size in urban areas, those of us who live outside of 3G and ubiquitous wifi coverage still need to carry everything around on the device.

I bought the 32GB iPad 3G (original) thinking I didn't want to limit myself to 16GB, but not spend extra on possibly unused storage. If I needed more, then upgrade when the next version came out.

I'm using just over 1/2 the memory, with most of the storage used by photos. My music is on my phone, or it would be full.

I bought the original 3g with 64GB in the first month they were released. Just checking today, I have 52.8GB of storage available, with 5.3 GB used. Not much used, and of that, it's mostly music that takes up space. I probably could have gone with a 32GB and been fine, but I have a tendency to over-trick rather than under-trick to try buy a little more time before obsolescence rears its ugly head.

I'm guessing it's the very rare person who, if they removed all movies, music, pictures and podcasts, would need more than 5 to 10GB in apps. Does anybody disagree? So it all comes down to what you use it for.

I have the 64GB model and it is always full - I DJ so it always has my back ups on it as well drops, jingles, commercials, etc. that I trigger when needed. I also have a lot of music, photo, & video editing apps on it.

BTW, the iPad 2 paired with an Alesis I/O Dock is a sweet combination...

For me, I need more space if anything....:D
