Ordered 7/7 on ATT website. Came off backorder on 7/9. 32GB. Looks like things might be speeding up a bit. :apple:
 
Ordered my 16gb through premier site on 6/29. Order status says "Date Ordered: 07/03/10". It's still on back order....
 
Ordered 32gb on 7/7 through premier, and it's off backorder as of this morning. I will do backflips if it actually ships today.
 
Update:

7/2 - Ordered 16GB in-store, non-premier, home delivery
7/4 - Canceled 16GB, ordered 32GB
7/8 (11:45pm) - 32GB Came off BO
7/9 (9:30am) - Received tracking e-mail, delivery by Monday 7/12

Location: Knoxville, TN

So I'll be receiving my phone on the 6th business day after my order.
 
Update to my previous post:

Just checked up on my order for (2) 16GB units ordered through premier on 6/29: still listed as backordered.

Especially annoying, since I ran into a guy at work yesterday who ordered on 7/6 via premier, and received his order 7/8.

Perhaps I'll stop by the local ATT store later today to see if they have any in stock.
 
Shortchanged by ATT?

Ordered 6/29 and it arrived on 7/7. Love it!

I downloaded the ATT app that let's you view your account usage etc. and found something interesting.... Seems ATT created my account and started my billing month on 6/29. Therefore I effectively pay for a week of service when I didn't even have a phone. The phone line and data plan seem to be billed this way. Interestingly, the text plan was prorated to the day the phone shipped, therefore it shows that I have only about 75% of the text messages, but I assume I was only charged for 75% of the fee.

So they charge for the things I'm not likely to overuse from day 1 and then prorate the item I may end up going over on and that could generate more revenue for them! This almost seems like a conscious effort on ATT's part to generate more revenue. They know which day the phone ships.....seems to me they should turn on the account the day they know you will receive the phone. I could even understand it going on when the " shipped" notice was generated, but a week before on a backordered item seems fraudulent.

Anyone else have this experience? I'm probably going to try to call ATT but I'm skeptical of having any human interaction with them. I've been a satisfied T-mobile customer for years and am afraid of dealing with the ATT beast! If anyone has confronted this issue I'd like to know how it was handled. I didn't port my old number or anything so I can't see how they could claim that they provided any type of service to me before my phone shipped.
 
I ordered the 16 GB iPhone on 7/3 around 2 PM and it went off backorder today around 4 PM. No tracking number as of yet, however.

I just checked on my order again ((2) 16GB units ordered 6/29), mine just went off backorder sometime between this morning and now. No tracking number yet.
 
i ordered in store on 7/3 and mine just went off backorder today. when should i expect it to ship? i assume within the next two days right?
 
My Premier order from 7/2 *just* came off backorder. No tracking yet.

I am so psyched, any Exchange usage on the 3G was absolutely painful.

My 7/4 in-store order went off backorder at 11:45pm on 7/8 and I received tracking info at 9:30am on 7/9. Of course, they had just submitted the electronic info to FedEx, the package didn't actually start to move until later in the day on 7/9.

Good luck! :) My phone just departed the Memphis hub... I live in Knoxville (/cry) it'll probably sit at the Knoxville hub all day tomorrow.
 
My 16gb ordered on the morning of 7/1 finally came off backorder around 9:30 this morning and shipped. It left Fort Worth at 3:00 p.m. headed to me in middle Tennessee for delivery on Monday.
 
16gb ordered from Premier on 7/1 shipped earlier today, got tracking info and should be here Monday at 3 :cool:
