We have information that says Samsung had information and choose not to act. Not only that, but rather than helping a customer who's phone burst into flames, questioned whether he would actually file a lawsuit or not and whether or not to help him. Samsung as a company is a slimy piece of crap. We have enough information to go on to make an informed decision on that. They are indeed...shady as hell
I've read the information and, IMO, weak at best. But anyway I was only saying why comparisons are made. I'm not saying the company is in the same playing field. I'm not saying one is better or worse. Just that all companies have issues and often times it is hard for companies to immediately rule out foul play. I dont think it's fair to say Samsung ignored this. The phone has been out a month and has been recalled twice. Just my opinion.

There's a great article that breaks down the reasons these things can happen In a simple but concise manner. It too mentioned the possibility of a rushed product. It also talks about a design flaw potential (both physical and software) as well as simply faulty manufacturing of the battery itself. IMO one of the better articles out there because it examines possibilities of what caused this without immediately pointing fingers. When the chips fall and Samsung is to blame, so be it. I think we are prematurely pointing fingers. I'm trying to remain obvjextice as possible. This, despite having not owned a Samsung product in over ten years.

what is the point of having the best hardware if it does not work fluid with software? what count is user experience, which requires both hard/soft ware to work together. something that android fans do not get.

Yup. Apple competitors always try to rush things out to beat Apple, wo fully testing, half-baked "features." This time, the fault happens to be fatal. bye-bye Note 7.

What features would these be, because I doubt you're knowledgeable enough to even comment on the Note.

Fact is, you take out the battery issue and the Note 7 was miles ahead of anything else on the market.
Not quite a fact really given that by far not all reviews agree with that to one degree or another and while various reviews point out that this or that might be better in one way or another it usually isn't anything that is "miles ahead of anything else on the market". That's not to say that Note 7 can't be and isn't seen as a pretty great device (minus the whole battery issue) by many, just that the "facts" and exaggerated extremes aren't really the reality necessarily.

I really loved my Note 7 and it was supposed to be a replacement for my 6s+. I just found the 6s+ too wide to grip and the Note 7 had the same size screen and it was narrower than the 6s+. After 2 recalls, I decided to go back to iPhone but I went with the 7. I just don't want to go to the 7+ which is the same form factor as the 6s+. So far, so good with my 7.

I saw a Note 7 in on the bus today and did a double take. It's such a nice looking phone and such a shame they're ticking time bombs. If I ever owned two phones at one time I would definitely consider a Samsung.

thats interesting what you said because I own two phones and still went with both iphones since everything just is easier and talks to each other considering I am part of the entire ecosystem

Conjecture. Conjecture everywhere. That's what's happening here. Nobody really knows anything but they're ready to tell you what went wrong. I seriously need to take a break from the forums for a few days. Lol.
Suggest heading over to cable news channels reporting on the Presidential campaign. That will send you scurrying back here right quick.

My iPhone running ios10 is doing everything I want it to. Doing it buttery smooth as well.

Before submitting yourself to the mental torture HEK came up with, I'd suggest simply doing this for a few days instead :p

Is not the battery, at least not only the battery, because apparently several of the replacement also went up in flames. Something else is going on.

Not kicking anybody while down at all. If Samsung ever makes a good looking phone as Apple, and I don't mean 100x more features, bigger screen, brighter screen etc, I mean something you look at, and immediately you go "I want it" am jumping ship.

Grrr I'm a note 7 user android person
Did have a iPhone 4 for a year

Not liking any of the other android phones

Looking like I'm going to pick up a
iPhone 7plus to get me thru to the note 8 comes out

I find the biggest thing Android users seem to miss when switching to iOS is the USB storage capability of the phone. You can plug your phone into any computer, drag media to and from it, and play/access that media from the phone. Did you find yourself missing that?

This is probably the #1 Android feature that I wish Apple would adopt. The problem is Apple likes to have control over the user experience, and I think this would go against that so it's unlikely to happen.

I think it's still a possibility in the future, as Apple gradually merges the capabilities of a desktop computer (Mac) with those of a handheld computer (iPhone). Already we are starting to see the merging of features and interface between the two.
