I'm not quite sure what it is, but for some reason, a good 75% of the threads I post to (historically) die after I make a post. It's almost as if a post by me is a kiss of death to any thread.

What is it? I don't smell, I showered today and everything!

Does this seem to happen to anyone else?

You bet. I'm the No.1 origeeenal thread-killa.

'Seem' being the key word. ;)

I wouldn't worry about it. Now that the both of us have posted here, that's surely the end of this discussion. :D

Your posts can't seem to be too needy, especially when you end your posts with a question mark. It's like begging to be replied to, which nobody would want to if they felt pressured to responding.

Just play it cool and add a smiley to the end of your posts. :D

Could be a personality problem.

Or like a fly, you could be attracted to the smell of crappy threads.

Of course, you could be edesignuk v2.0 -- who probably has the record for the number of posts to wastelanded threads. ;)

BV didn't you start that London picnic thread? That had a ton of responses....

So did the World Cup thread.

I'm only joking though. I'm sure it happens to almost everyone now and then... with some notable exceptions. ;)

How much you notice it depends on how insecure you're feeling at the time, I guess.

It happens a lot to me too. I decided that it was simply because I must provide really good answers or summaries, and no one else feels the need to add anything. So I see it as a compliment. ;)

Probably just timing - if you happen to get in on a thread near the end of it's natural life, your post has better odds of being the last one.

Perhaps your new goal should always be within the first 5 to post, or simply stay away. ;)

Edit: I see that in post #28 you're actually attempting to insure your observation comes true. :p

Posting a note that you're closing a thread doesn't count. :p

Your real name isn't Godwin is it?

It seems to happen to me to. I guess its the problem with providing irrefutable proof that you have the canonical answer.

That would have been funny if no one responded to this thread.

Or better yet, have michealrjohnson post again and have no repsonse after that.

wow. here i was thinking that I was the original thread killer... hmm. i feel better about myself already. Seriously, i was getting down in the dumps at the thought of being the death of the party, so to speak. But I guess it happens to everyone now and then...

(NOW PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, SOMEONE POST SOMETHING AFTER THIS POST);)

Could be worse - people tend to ignore what I post. Sometimes I'll put up something, then a few posts later, someone else says more or less the same thing and gets a flood of responses. Go figure.

What I hate is when I post something, but no ones says a word. Then, sure enough, some punk comes along with the same idea, posts it, and everyone talks about what a great response it was. Man that pisses me off.

Spot on – I hate it when that happens.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned it before you did, actually.

 LOL! :D

It's odd... I wonder if any of these anomalies are statistically significant? Perhaps we should start an inquest into MR posting trends.

Q? ;)

It's just that so many people have you on their ignore list that they just can't read what you write :p :D
