uh oh...

Good news: We have a winner: member -PowerMac-, who joined less than 2 months ago.

At the moment, 100% of his or her posts are last in their threads.

As it turns out, the thread in question is a rather sad one in the Help forum, where the problem didn't get resolved. :( Perhaps one of you can help them, even if it spoils -PowerMac-'s achievement. But at least some good will have come of this thread.

He/she hasn't been back since making the post, so it's probably not worth answering it at this point. :)

Unless of course they're watching like a hawk as a guest, but that would be weird.

Maybe they subscribed to the thread with the email option, so they don't have to log in or watch the thread, but would still hear about it if someone else posted the answer.

Okay...you talked me into it. :D

Out of my last 360 posts, I ended the thread 16 times. I hope that's average ;)

1. I can't believe you actually looked that up.

2. Nope, you're less than average. If you were average, you'd've ended the thread 29.77 times in those 360 posts.

Sorry. ;)
I don't think you can conclude that. In other words, the fact that posts have a 1 in 12.09 chance of being last in their thread doesn't imply that posters (people, that is) have an average rate of making the last post in 1 out of 12.09 of their own threads.

He never said he concluded 16 of his own threads, just 16 threads total. Since no one post is special and every 12.09th post is a thread-ender, having a rate of 22.5 posts per thread-ender means he's a prolific poster but not very good at having the last word.

I know I'm arguing with the math master here, but I stick by my conclusion, absent any actual evidence that he's some sort of anomaly (e.g., most of his posts were in the 16 threads that he ended). :)

I can't believe I looked it up either :p I meant to just look at the first page of my subscribed threads, then I hit page 2... etc. Oh well, thats 4 minutes I'll never get back  :)

I think it's a perception problem. Almost everyone who posted here seems to think they end an inordinate amount of threads. However it's probably due to the fact that you really thend to pay more attention to the threads you participate in so you don't notice the death of the threads you don't participate in and you have a much higher chance of a post ending a thread if you participate in it.
