It’s almost impressive how good they are at blocking people from the EU. I am glad Hulu etc have not figured it out yet.

I even made a new Instagram account while using a GPS location faker. It worked for almost a day before they caught up with it again 😵‍💫 VPN no luck either

I wonder if it would work if I asked my sister in Mexico to log in with my account once a day 🤔

Almost all government subsidized companies.

He doesn't know how to run something successfully if its not dependent on corporate welfare.
Tesla - gives access to all EV competitors to their superchargers. Makes batteries/cars in USA = better for economy. Converting peaker plants to batteries. Sounds like tax payers are getting something valuable.

SpaceX - NASA saved $500m from one SpaceX rocket. Also saves $100m per rocket. Tax payers getting their money's worth.

Boring Company - Saved LVCVA $160 million over building a slow tram people mover from achieving the same thing. Their 68 mile loop in Vegas will not use any tax payer dollars and city receives 5% revenue. Again, tax payers got a good return for investing $50m in that 1.7 mile tunnel.

Correlation does not equal to causation. It's useful, therefore government invests.

And I guess Neuralink/OpenAI just happened to be billion dollar companies without gov subsidies. Sorry but Elon really is onto something.

Juli - is there a reason you keep calling X Twitter? Seems like an editor would have picked this up by now.

The Twitter name still appears all over the site. Maybe when X Corp stops referring to it as Twitter, others will as well. I'm surprised it's taking so long for them (X Corp) to fully "clean up" the site.

I still wonder what they were thinking, not having web access right from the start. A lot of people spend many hours in front of a computer, and if you're at your computer you're going to want to use it rather than reaching for your phone. It's why Apple apps like iMessage work on the Mac, it's why you can make calls on your Mac. People who use their computers a lot want access to everything from them.

That said, Apple is guilty of this bizarre thinking too. The new Journal feature coming out this year isn't on the Mac for some reason. Given how much journaling involves typing, I'm BOGGLING at the fact that it's not on the Mac. Not to mention Apple's own dev stack makes it so easy to create apps that work on both iPhone and MacOS.

The app is useless for me until it has Mac support. I'm sure many others agree!

Well, twitter.com still works and tweets (or whatever they're called now) can still be seen through twitter.com URL. Additionally, when I try to go to x.com, I'm redirected to twitter.com, so Twitter is alive and well.
ok, whatever ...enjoy living in the past ...

If Threads is anything like Tiwtter/X, most access it through a mobile device/app. Regardless, Threads wasn't "fully baked" when it launched and still isn't.

From what I understand a lot of power users and media/journalists like to post from their computers. It’s a small percentage of users but they tend to generate the content with the most engagement. Especially when it comes to text based content. Which is completely opposite to instagram and tick tock etc.

Also, they want things like timed automated posts for brand campaigns etc.
I really didn’t know all this stuff before. Had no idea why some people were so up in arms about not having a web version.
