First iTunes (store), now finder! Be careful with BTT. Every system I install it on seems to get touchpad glitches/issues after a while, and the custom rules stop working.

If it could run properly I'd be happy!

So far I haven't had any errors with BTT - yet. But I feel like I will, eventually.

I still don't understand why only the three-finger gestures work in Lion and ML in Finder, and not the two-finger gesutres, which is the one people use the most. Apple is weird.

Its because two fingers are used for horizontal scrolling in finder.

I have the same problem. 3 finger swipe used to navigate back/forward in Finder, and now does nothing.

I also had problems with scrolling in general (even in Chrome) and back/forward with two fingers in Chrome. Restarts fixed these problems, but not the finder problem.

Same bug for me on 10.9 GM, i can't swipe with 3 fingers in the Finder anymore, a shame as it works on ML, L, ...

Bug? Or feature....I have a sneaky suspicion this won't be coming back.

Been gone since Dev seed 1. I'm clinging to the fact that Finder has been played with quite a bit in 10.9 (tabs/tagging etc.)

If you ever get the bug where the three finger swipe appears not to work in the finder, its a bug with a workaround. What fixes it for me is to first scroll up or down with two fingers in the window, and then the three finger swipe works.

It's very strange but its true, and it only happens sometimes. It's definitely a bug.

Nope.....FAIL. Does.Not.Work. :(

Does not work.
Been broken for a while, seems like Apple either doesn't want to fix it.. or it's so low on the list of things to fix that they are kinda ignoring it.

Same in browsers

I have this same issue with FireFox. I've always used the three-finger swipe left/right for back/forward when browsing. Not having this is maddening.

I observed this behavior under ML (and possibly Lion), but the three-finger swipe in Finder is definitely not (ever) working for me under Mavericks (GM 1). Installing BTT now in hopes of getting it back.

Yes, I have always used it too. And it's so comfortable! And I also can't use three finger swipe up/down to go to the top or the bottom of the page.

For going back/forward there is a fix - swipe left and right with TWO fingers. At least in FF it works, not sure about Finder. Just takes a bit to get used to (=

I also have this problem. In addition to that. I can't use three-finger swipe in App Store as well. Even though I have disabled it from the system preferences, I can use two finder swipe in App Store, but no 3 finger. Bizarre.

Is this bug going to be addressed in 10.9.2?

Possibly unrelated but three-finger swipe to bring up Mission Control and App Expose has been very annoying since around Mountain Lion and continuing into Mavericks (10.9.2).

The annoyance - three-finger swipe up/down for Mission Control and App Expose do not work after a restart UNTIL you go into the Trackpad preferences and deselect and then reselect either one of the checkboxes.

Very annoying. Luckily I do not have to restart very often.

Oh and three-finger swipe left/right to change pages and go back/forward in browsers work fine for me (no BTT).

For information (and comparison) purposes, here are my settings for the Trackpad prefpane:

Swipe between pages - Swipe with two or three fingers
Swipe between full-screen apps - Swipe left or right with four fingers
Notification Center - Swipe left from the right edge with two fingers
Mission Control - Swipe up with three fingers
App Expose - swipe down with three fingers
Launchpad - not enabled
Show Desktop - Spread with thumb and three fingers

And one more setting [the person(s) who moved this from the Trackpad prefpane should be shot, hung and quartered] :-

Accessibility prefpane > Mouse & Trackpad > Trackpad Options ... > Turn on Enable dragging with Drag Lock - this is the old double-tap-and-hold-on-second-tap to move/drag windows/items around or to do selections.

I tried the three-finger-drag method and found it very cumbersome especially when working within Excel trying to select multiple cells - moving one finger is more precise than trying to coordinate three fingers only to have one finger drop off the edge and repositioning.

Nope, still broken in 10.9.2

This effects both trackpads as well as the Magic Mouse. In ML I had it setup to two finger swipe in Finder would go back and forward.

BTW, just noticed that the swiping back with 3 fingers (or 2 on the MM) works in something like System Preferences. So it's clear Apple just broke Finder in Mavericks.

Guys this is 10.9.2...there is likely many a man/woman in Apple who created/loved this feature and noticed its missing...and theres nothing they can do about it as some power that be may not want it/have time for it. I'd place my bets on it not being a bug but a missing feature, possibly to be reintroduced in the future, but also quite possibly not. I'm just expecting the worst!

I think it's a dead gesture. Three fingers in Finder is used to drag items.
