Isn't Garage Band the first app everyone deletes from their iPhone?
Does it actually come pre-installed on the phone, though? I seem to remember having to download it, but then again it's been a long time (probably too long) since I've set an iPhone up from a clean install.

It comes on the device, but without all the sound packs, so it doesn’t take up a lot of space. I’m sure some people will delete it, but most folks probably never pay attention to it.

For anyone wondering, yes, this DOES appear to resolve the constant crashing issues on the iPhone. Your GarageBand is now usable again. :)

EDIT: And, in other happy news of improvements, the timeline no longer scrolls automatically when you’re setting cut points, moving clips or anything else where you’re trying to pick a specific point.
Also, VERY good to see!

Can you imagine how miserable these people must be in real life?

I have been a member of this board for a long time. My observation, every year this board becomes more negative...every post. Doesn't matter what Apple does, and yet, they continue to buy Apple products.

Same-o same-o negativity, every day.

Sadly, it's like many have relinquished their personal agency to instead choose what they believe are superior tech products.

Yikes! I was hoping they forget about it by now. We need for iOS 27 to return norma. WHAT WERE THEY THIKING! What a terrible waste of time a money. For what?

So all they did was restore the old version of the Pixelmator Pro icons on macOS. The white background one with zero support for dark or clear.
Anyone else think they are starting to slow roll Liquid Glass, maybe their running into issues rebuilding the apps for it...

I love the part of this article where you showed us screenshots of the changes…
No need to, the Pixelmator Pro icon on macOS look like the old one again with the white background (no support for dark or clear modes). Just enlarged so no glass background with the logo in the middle like it was. And the Photometer icon is the same just with dark & clear support on iOS/iPadOS. I don't have the app on macOS, only the Pro version. And at least on Pixelmator Pro the app itself has zero Liquid Glass changes...

I mean, it’s not like they have to rush because they’re going to change it again, Liquid Glass is it. Final Cut Pro on iPad gets updated once or twice a year, so if it gets LG’d around next June, it’s not like that’s “too late”.

Neither Photomator or Pixelmator Pro got a dark mode Tahoe icon, and their UIs are completely untouched.

Apple is really, really annoying me recently with its failure to implement its own UI conventions consistently and promptly. It's such a fall from grace from a company that used to have such a high attention to detail and standards, and was famed for its software.

Just unforgivable for a company with its resources.
Yeah! Where's the iWork update?

This is my Photomator "glass" icon. Not changin' it!

I find it to be inexcusable (and maybe even lazy) to be forcing a clearly iOS 26 icon onto a user running iOS18.

It's not like they can't distinguish that on the App side and serve a proper (and already existing!) icon for iOS18 or older users.

wait, so if I stay on Sequoia and install/update any app that's been since redesigned to comply with ta,hoe, that app will be the phlegmy odd one out??

Good question on the macOS side, I'm not sure as I've not updated any of my apps recently.

But on iOS/iPadOS, the answer is yes.

The practical solution here is to copy/paste the current icon onto an empty folder using the Info window in Finder and store it somewhere. Copy/paste it back onto the app if it gets changed to something you don’t like.

changing an icon is just the 'denial' stage of grief, I can think of at least three apps I will burn at the stake if they force this vaseline soup *UI on me.
