My 6+ is having this issue - just started a month or two ago (I moved to 6S PLUS and have since moved on to 7 PLUS).

Apple should own this issue, completely. Absolutely no reason why their 2 year old phone (which is still working great) should be relegated to a failed device and I have to shell out $329 to fix. Friend of mine had this issue and he took it in and they gave him new 6 PLUS (before 7 was announced).

Hoping they do the same with this device. At least the phone isn't exploding in my pocket. Just refuses to recognize my touch anymore (and yes, that sounds like a personal problem).

This could all go away if Apple would just swap out touch disease owners with a white box 6s/6s+ replacement, but they're too greedy to do the right thing.

I have Touch IC Disease on my iPhone 6 plus.

I just got the 7 plus and want to sell the 6 plus online....maybe eBay.

The issue isn't all the time but at times I have to bend the phone to get the screen to work....

Has anyone sold a 6 or 6 plus on eBay?

How should I word my listing?

All you've done is confirm to me that Americans say the word wrong ha
Or basically there are slightly different variations/dialects of many languages and none of them are really necessarily any less valid or correct compared to the others.

So you are willing to sell a used handset that does not work 100% for the maximum amount of money? Sort of sounding like a global corporation.....

Why would you get mad at the workers there? Express violence to someone who is just trying to make a living and following the companies policies. Quite silly of you. Blame Apple Corporate.

If you read my post again, you'll understand that I had no intention of murdering anyone, I wasn't even upset. Take your outrage elsewhere.

4 out of 1.5 million phones. WOW.

I also take exception to the term "explode". Do they explode? Is there shrapnel launched for feet around the phone? Windows blow out? Large "bang" noise? Bystanders injured? Or, do they simply catch fire from overheating?

You don't think 4 iPhones have ever caught fire from overheating or some electrical malfunction?

That translates to double the amount of acceptable defects according to Six Sigma.

You didn't disagree with your friend. Take your outrage and anger to apple management not the workers. Grow up.

So after Apple screwed you over with the 6 Plus, you bought the 7 Plus?

Apple should have swapped out the failing 6/6 Plus with the 6S/6S Plus before the touch disease became news and blew up in its face.

Of cause bean counter Tim Cook won't allow that.

Sorry but how is doing a "fix" by replacing the defective device with the same device that will eventually develop the same flaw...? That isn't a fix , it's a work around.
Replace it with the 6S/6S Plus

You don't need to drop it just really bend it. Wear looser jeans bro
So you are blaming the user when the problem is clearly with the design?

about 1 year ago I had my iPhone 6+ exchanged in warranty due to touch disease. The Apple genius specifically told me that Apple Engineers were aware of this issue and were narrowing down the possible causes. I believe I had the guy write this down as I was concerned (and he agreed) that my replacement might eventually develop the same problem but would be out of warranty at that time. I need to dig up the replacement paperwork and his written remarks. I wonder if this would help the attorneys in this lawsuit.

What are folks suppose to do when they're heavily invested in the Apple Ecosystem?

I agree, I'm still extremely upset with Apple because they wouldn't do the right thing knowing people like me spent $1000 on a phone that didn't even make it to year 2. Then they have the audacity to ask for an additional $329+ tax for another touch disease prone replacement with a laughable 90 day warranty.

n my iPhone 6 plus.
looks like the problem is not exclusive to iPhone 6

Thanks for the tweet. It's very possible that is an issue as well.

Thinking through the entire thing, the video is not proof that's it's the same thing. I've had my iOS hang up before on other devices and even prior to this issue and the touch didn't work. A simple would fix it. It could also be some kind of problem when the iOS was updated and it just needs a fresh install again.

It's a loaded question. I'm not answering loaded questions. However, The answer is Apple is dealing with it, just not the way you want them to deal with it. So the correct answer is Apple is dealing with this issue and not ignoring it.
He means, ‘No’.

Might be useful, I strongly suspect though that Apple will say he speaks for himself and not for the company as it wasn't an official statement. But it’s a start so let’s see it.

Update: I did purchase a 7 Plus and picked it up from the Apple store last night. After I picked up the phone I was explaining to them the problem. All I got was deflecting responses. I was told I could pay to have it replaced with the typical out of warranty price. He left it with "I let Apple make the decisions."

Cool. Enjoy the class action.

Just took my 6+ for the second time on the last day of my AppleCare got it swapped out again this time a 6S+. Let's hope it's better.

Sent my touch diseased out-of-warranty iPhone 6 Plus back to Apple for out-of-warranty service. Apple Rep said it would cost up to $329 to repair. Five days later they sent me a new iPhone 6 Plus. Apple said that my iPhone could not be repaired, but they didn't charge me for the replacement, so I'm happy!
