I yearn for the day in which you buy buy one format and can get the book in all three.

It would be nice to get a "digital copy" when you buy the hardcover. I much prefer reading on my Kindle or even iPad over a physical book. But then what do you put on the bookshelf :D

One would think that this wouldn't be so difficult, given that you can get a Blu Ray/DVD/Digital combo for basically the same price as any one of those options.

Steve Jobs Book Launch

No question Steve knew how to do the most impactful product launches to sell Apple's latest offerings. This book sure is selling in a big way after his passing.

Wow already stopped going to Giz because of the useless posts now MacRumors is following quickly behind in uselessness. Honestly how is this post not a joke? Really? And if you already have the hardcover why waste money and buy the iPad version? Yeah I love my iPad but if I had a real book I would much rather read that, if not a book then my Kindle 4. The iPad and iPhone would be a last resort. Though I guess someone buying SJs book twice is breaking news these days since there is no more iPhone "it's not called the 5" rumors going around these days.

This was my first iBooks purchase for my new iPhone 4S. I think it will be ok reading it, although I am hoping that iBooks will come to Mac OS X or I'll be in the market for an iPad sooner or later.

I think Steve would have rather I read it on an iPhone than in a hardback book that I would have to store, transport, and pay more for.

The pirate bay Is faster to innovate in this respect. I'd be happy for The same type of deal, though I'm looking @ obtaining less & less physical copies of media.

Still can't figure out why iBooks can't be read on Macs.

It would be really neat.

A reader who purchased Walter Isaacson's Steve Jobs biography in multiple forms sent in this image of three different ways to read what could be Amazon's bestselling book of the year
Utter, utter FAIL

I wonder if it'll be the same rip-off if you buy in a country other than the one you're living in? I've bought BR/DVD/DC combos from the UK (because they're in English), but the DC won't download because I'm in Switzerland. They don't make that little trick obvious in the advertising!

£8.30 at WH Smith in hard cover, Amazon Kindle and iBook are £12.99.

I know which one I'll be buying.

Apparently people are expecting this book to be quite popular, one trader is trying to sell it for £1,223.28 on Amazon UK

Technically that's only two ways of reading it: as an iBook and as an actual book. Now if he'd had an overhead projector or something, that would have been cool.

I bought the print version. Just that much more empowering due to the shear size of this thing!

Absolutely! I get two more sheep done per hour because of the bigger shear size! :D

I am not going to read because I don't read books. This is a book and I will not read it.

Can't argue with that logic. But I nominate that macrumors be henceforth called a book.

3 ways folks: hardcover, iBooks, Kindle.

14 ways to buy a Kindle book is not a different version.

2 ways to buy an electronic copy is not a different version is it? Is there no paperback? If one does come out will that be an additional way?

....Yeah I'm going to buy myself a Kindle version as well. The hardback is beautifully done but it's huge and will be awkward to read leaning back :p

I went for the Kindle version for my iPad over the iBooks version, because I like the feature where you can share quotes from the book direct to Facebook &/or Twitter.

I know that's a bit sad, but I know there will be some real "wow" moments in there that I'd like to post anyway.

Now comes the point where everyone says "You can do that from iBooks too!" :D
